Makoto/Kyoko/Mukuro + 26
Have a beach date + Naegirisaba
***
Kyouko drags her knuckles across her forehead and tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her shoulders rising and falling as she breathes deeply. She stares forward. On the other side of the battlefield stands her opponent, a single person with washed-out eyes on a face devoid of all emotion. The world around them has fallen dark with tension and suspense, and sweat peppers Kyouko’s forehead, even after she ran her hand across it just now.
“We just need... one successful attack,” Kyouko says in a hushed tone. She furrows her brow. Grits her teeth. In her chest, her heart thrashes in overdrive. “Then... victory will finally be ours.”
Her fists clench tighter.
A dramatic breeze passes by. It smells like salt and fire.
Beside her, Makoto whines softly.
“Kirigiri-san, remember... we’re just playing beach volleyball,” he says.
His reminder restores light to the beach. The sand transforms from a grey into a blonde white and the sky clears into a brilliant blue with the occasional smudge of white. They can hear the rustle of the sea, the occasional plop of water and the intermittent caw of a seagull.
Kyouko and Makoto stand on one side of a net, the former in a loose white t-shirt and black bikini bottoms and the latter wearing trunks of a forgettable colour. Across from them, Mukuro Ikusaba waits for the volleyball to be served to her, dressed in a plain black sports crop top and jean shorts.
But make no mistake about her casual attire - Mukuro is anything but.
Normally, in a game of beach volleyball, each team has the same number of players and they play at least two sets. A third if each team wins a set. However, only the three of them are playing, and the choice of who should be by themselves had been immediately obvious. With a choice between a detective, a regular guy and a soldier... all in attendance at the same academy, recognised for their specialised talents... clearly, the soldier should be solo, and of course, she was the one in the lead regardless.
Danganronpa x Boku no Hero Academia AU
Due to being a diehard (lol) Danganronpa fanboy and currently on a BnHA fanfic binge, here’s an Au of the two mashed together along the same lines as the Skyrim AU I made years ago that is somehow kinda popular.
Hope’s Peak Academy is not a Hero School, but rather a school that focuses on Quirk research and improvement. Here are the students of Class 78.
Makoto Naegi Quirk: Black and White Naegi’s quirk is an unusual one, in that it is based around the concept of luck. Due to the semi-passive nature of this quirk, he was thought to be Quirkless for some time. Basically, if he experiences a string of bad luck, people around him will experience good luck. Similarly, if he experiences good luck, people around him suffer bad luck instead. It is currently unknown the extent of this luck, but it is known that, the better the good luck, the worse the bad luck.
Sayaka Maizono Quirk: Sirensong Sayaka Maizono’s quirk is based around her voice. She can change the volume of her voice beyond the range of any other person, can change how it sounds to imitate people she has met, and can even use her voice to temporarily brainwash anyone listening. It is fortunate for the world, then, that Maizono is content with using her quirk to spice up her concert performances.
Leon Kuwata Quirk: Godeye Reflex Kuwata has the perfect quirk for a baseball player. His quirk gives him incredibly sharp reflexes, to the point he can essentially ‘slow down time’ to see things moving at a slower pace. True, he himself is also slowed down, but not quite to the same degree as everyone around him. However, his quirk is mostly vision-based, so his eyes and thoughts often outpace his arms.
Chihiro Fujisaki Quirk: Technopathy Fujisaki’s quirk allows him to manipulate electrical devices on an almost electronic level. If presented with a computer system with any level of AI, he can communicate with it like it was a person. He can also pinpoint any flaw or problem a device might have. Such a quirk has also granted him the intelligence and skills necessary to become a master programmer.
Mondo Oowada Quirk: Motorlegs Oowada’s a man built for speed. His quirk manifests as motorcycle-style engines in each leg, enabling him to run at highway speeds. However, at the moment he can only do this in short spurts, and thus chooses to spend most of the time riding motorcycles instead. His stiff pompadour cuts the air as he runs, reducing the effect of wind resistance.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru Quirk: Speed-read Ishimaru is a committee member to the bone. His quirk lets him read any form of written document at speeds beyond any normal humans’ capabilities, and memorize them with absolute clarity. On top of this, in order to prevent a mental breakdown, Ishimaru can compartmentalize such knowledge, essentially ‘forgetting’ it until there comes a time he would need it.
Hifumi Yamada Quirk: Art Hands Yamada’s quirk is something every artist dreams of. Using the ink that generates from his hair, Yamada can quickly create drawings on paper and canvas that he can then ‘pose’ like an artist mannequin, and even do a manner of ‘copy-paste’ to duplicate images. The ink can come in any color Yamada desires. As a result, Yamada can create a full-color manga volume in under an hour. However, this also dehydrates him fairly quickly.
Celestia Ludenburg Quirk: Mental Math Celestia Ludenburg’s quirk is a strictly mental one. She can run calculations of probability and numbers through her mind at record speed, providing an almost prophetic level of accuracy. Such a quirk is fit for accountants and mathematicians, but Celestia instead uses it for gambling purposes. She also seems to have a charismatic side effect, in that witnessing her win a gamble endears her to people. Whether this is due to her quirk or her own efforts, no one knows.
Sakura Oogami Quirk: Martial Prowess Sakura Oogami, despite being a mountain of muscle, does not have a strength quirk. Instead, her quirk allows her to perfectly master any form of martial arts she sees. Watching a technique for five minutes lets her emulate the basics, while watching for ten gives her complete mastery. However, she still needs to train her body to handle these techniques.
Aoi Asahina Quirk: Hydroform Aoi Asahina is the ultimate swimmer. Her quirk lets her breathe underwater and practically fly through it, moving 100 feet in under ten seconds. However, it is believed her quirk is still developing, as she has stated there had been moments where it felt like she turned into water and moved even faster. Tests are being done to see if this is indeed an aspect of her quirk, or just her eating too many doughnuts.
Byakuya Togami Quirk: Unknown No official data exists of Togamis’ quirk. Due to his intellect, however, people assume he must some mind-enhancing quirk. (Truth is, he is Quirkless, and just worked his ass off to get to where he is. Due to his fathers’ behavior combined with society at large, Togami has a slight resentment of quirks, and aims to become the chairman of the Togami Corporation just to prove you don’t need a quirk to be successful.)
Touko Fukawa Quirk: Living Autopsy Touko is a girl with an unfortunate quirk. Her quirk lets her see a persons’ physical condition, learning any weak points and health issues. As a novelist, she doesn’t use this quirk too much. However, her murderous split personality, Genocider Syo, uses it to great effect when murdering her victims. Such a quirk puts a strain on her eyes, requiring her to wear glasses.
Kyoko Kirigiri Quirk: Deep Perception Kirigiri’s quirk is also primarily based on vision, similar to Kuwata’s quirk. However, hers lets her perceive facts about an object or a scene. This allows her to spot minute details, and even minor post-cognitive powers, perfect for solving crimes. She could also use her hands to get better detail, but is never seen without her gloves.
Mukuro Ikusaba Quirk: Lifestealer Ikusaba has a quirk that some would say befits a villain more than anything. Any time she wounds a creature (be it animal or human), she can slowly drain the life from it, using said energy to heal any wounds she might have. However, she can only drain an amount equivalent between her targets’ wounds and her own wounds. It has been proven that such healing leaves no scars, either.
Junko Enoshima Quirk: Perfect Analysis Junko’s quirk is similar to Kirigiri’s. Whereas Kirigiri’s quirk lets her discover the truth of an object, Enoshima’s lets her discover the truth of a person. The longer she watches a person, the more information she can obtain. She can’t read minds, but by watching them she can predict how they’d act when faced with certain situations. However, she cannot analyze how a person would react to trauma, nor can her quirk take the aspect of luck into account.
Yasuhiro Hagakure Quirk: Unreliable Visions Hagakure’s quirk, as the name suggests, is a hard one. He can have detailed visions based around events or a person. Most of the time, these visions are false and not to be heeded. However, anytime Hagakure recants a vision with a voice not his own, it is best to take it seriously.
And there we go. Not sure I’ll write a fanfic for this, even if my brain has one kinda planned out already. XD If you guys think I should give it a try, I might write an outline, tho be warned it would be an unapologetic Naekugiri fic. (I will go down with my ship)
I may write another one like this for Class 77 in the future. My head hurts too much to write it right now.
I also tag @shsl-shipper-gamer-fangirl and @hopeymchope and @ilovemukuroikusaba in hopes they would see this because I think they would get a kick out of these ideas. Enjoy.
