Although the movie is a fictional version, Huntrix is based on real rituals and there are traditional Korean spirits throughout the movie. The influence has been directly sited by the creator. So it’s canon I’m pretty sure but even if it’s not it makes perfect sense for them to be practitioners.

And they has extremely detailed notes for all the background plants/trees just to make sure that the environment is certifiably Jeju Island!?

Does this prove Mi-Yeong was from Jeju Island? No.

Does this mean the creative team has acknowledged Jeju's insanely diverse muism tradition and therefore increases the chances of Mi-Yeong being from Jeju? Hell yeah it does!

My mum threatened to have me disowned by the entire family if I became a mudang (Korean shaman). She said she’d rather I be a murderer or a trump supporter than a mudang.
