If you're wanting to get close shots of your companions for VP, DAVE's a really great way of doing it. If I want to get close shots of Amelia with Lucanis, I put him in the companion 3 slot. He doesn't walk away the same way the companions in slots 1 & 2 do. So, you can walk right up to him and he'll stay where he is (for the most part; he might walk away eventually, but after quite a while).
Also, if you don't want your other companions photob*mbing your shots, just set companion slots 1 & 2 to empty, so you only have the one companion with you.
