I've reached the point where I genuinely feel that any physician working for an insurance company in order to justify the denials those companies give to patients should be stripped of their medical licenses.
At this point, we all have to acknowledge that insurance companies are acting as entities that harm patients in the name of profit by denying care and as physicians we all took an oath to first, do no harm.
I don't wanna get all kumbaya and woo-woo about this but when I took my oath (over zoom because of my covid graduation) upon graduating from medical school I, like, meant it? Like, taking that oath was meaningful and symbolic and when I made that oath I genuinely was committing myself to uphold the things I said for the rest of my life, it wasn't just another thing to check off the list in my medical training journey. The moment I became a doctor was when I took that oath.
And I think as a profession, we need to start ousting these doctors who are working in tandem with these insurance companies to act as barriers to care in the name of profits. Who are lending their medical licenses to be used in this way, who are harming the dwindling public trust people may have left in our profession by using their position in society to literally hurt people.
Physicians who work for insurance companies should be embarrassed and ashamed and none of us should acknowledge them as colleagues. We need to actively and publicly shun them. The AMA should publicly support this and would if the people who run it weren't a bunch of bootlicking cowards who kowtow to fascists and support union busting.

This has been my main argument against "AI" from the very beginning.
OpenAI scraped the entire web. All of which had been a labor of love from humans. Wikipedia is the backbone of a lot of LLMs, and that was volunteer human labor. They stole it and now they're selling it back to us.
And worse, they're trying to destroy the free sources that they stole from. It's destruction of human knowledge on an unprecedented scale. The burning of the library of Alexandria has nothing on this.

I'm fairly confident that I've never met a person who doesn't have ptsd. I think the division is really "people with ptsd that they can mask/manifests in ways that others can ignore" and "people whose ptsd can't be ignored by others so they're forced to begrudgingly acknowledge its existence"

What with GTA VI going up for pre-order i'd just like to remind everyone that rockstar conspired with the UK government to lock an 18-year-old away for life for hacking them.
People talk about how Lucanis isn't actually the one who's impressive and say he's only able to get a shot a Ghilanain because of Spite... But his handling of the Spite situation is deeply impressive to me.
He doesn't just hold out for an entire year, he makes a deal that means his worst concern is shared custody of his body. Most mages can't even do that.

There are three records that we are able to access (one note just says it goes on for pages and pages.) Prisoner 36 succumbed after 9 days. Prisoner 20 succumbed after 18 days.
The longest we have a record of anyone else holding out is 100 days, and after that time they were taken over by a demon of passivity.
He and Spite aren't just working together. He's already learned how to move in order to take advantage of Spite's wings. That takes practice, collaboration, and patience.

Basically? Outside of the Avvar, what Lucanis has done is basically unprecedented. He's also experienced and talented enough to adapt to an entirely new fighting style within the span of one year.
