System: 82 Eridani Planet: Eridani II Purpose: Distress Call Response
Report: A company survey team led by CEO Marcus Weyland was present in Eridani system for biological survey of planet Eridani-IV but diverted upon receiving distress call from local settlement on Eridani II. Team made contact with independant settler Alban Lopez and negotiated an armed response contract for assistance in dealing with a Spacer warband that had been terrorizing the system and destroyed communications between him and other settlements in the system.
Following agreement of terms, Weyland teams entered orbit and repaired satellite communications around Eridani II, III, V, and VI which allowed communication between the colonies. The leaders of all colonies were then summoned to a meeting point and a local defensive arrangement was put in place with Weyland Yutani as the guarantor and arbitrator of terms. United, settler forces lead by Weyland combat teams to assault a Spacer held space station in orbit around Eridani VII.
Defense forces were successful in boarding the station, quickly breaking the resolve of Spacer forces after a fire outbreak which forced the evacuation of the station. Retreating Spacer ships were then destroyed in space by armed Weyland Yutani survey ships and settler haulers. The station was then turned over to the custody of local authorities for usage in their newly arranged defensive pact, but will need extensive repairs to become operational again. Company teams then returned to their assigned survey duties in the system. Defense contract was paid to the order 120,000c in payments and associated salvage.
