It’s only fair. I know we’re kinda the same age but is it weird t’say that I’m gonna adopt her? With her hands squishing her face, Mari’s lips turned up into a bright smile, “Cassafrass! The cutest Cassie in all of Frostford! I mean, have you ever had a conversation with Cassie and been like.... wow this girl is borin’? No, literally, have you? If you have, you’re a bold faced liar ‘cause she’s nowhere close to borin’ and I will dump custard on anyone who even dares to say it.” She began poking at her cheeks as she mulled through her web of thoughts, “She kinda reminds me of those characters in old cartoons that you just can’t hate. Like Kuki Sanban from Codename Kids Next Door or anyone from the My Little Pony universe. Or that one girl in a girl group that everyone is obsessed with ‘cause they always look like they’re super sweet and innocent except that Cassie is those things genuinely. Which is hard to find; genuine people, I mean.” Taking a moment to pause, Mariangel leaned back in her chair as her fingers drummed against the counter, “Oh my god, d’you think she’d wanna be in a girl group? Maybe like the Spice Girls or Fifth Harmony except without that gross drama that comes with it? Musical talent not needed. How fun would that be!” @cassiejohnsons

A slightly pained expression appeared on Mari’s face as she heard that particular name, “Oh, ya mean the reason I’m goin’ t’have grey hairs before I turn twenty three?” She didn’t take these statements lightly considering she had a lot of friends who fell into the dumb category in life but lord almighty did Asher leave her with headaches. “Don’t get me wrong! I adore him to pieces and think he’s very sweet - I mean, I reckon I wouldn’t talk to him if he wasn’t - but why is he so dumb? Who allowed this? Who’s location do I need in order to have this chat? I literally text him once a week - sometimes more dependin’ on what I hear - to make sure he hasn’t done anythin’ that’ll get him killed ‘cause I do not have an outfit for when I have to go and rescue him from being murdered. This is what I get for bein’ such a good mom friend.” She took a moment as she pushed her hair behind her shoulders, “And can he please make up his mind if he’s datin’ Delilah Abernathy or not? Holding her hands together as she leaned back into her chair, Mariangel’s initial thought seemed to only go towards one direction, “Would’ya believe me if I said that Boone is surprisingly coordinated? Like... I ain’t tryin’ to say that in a bad way ‘cause I’m actually tryin’ to say that it’s impressive! Sometimes when you look at people who used’t play football, you don’t really think they’ll be able to dance or anythin’ but Boone?” Her hands soon fell apart as she motioned to the side as if that was a way of validating her point in some way even if it only made sense to her. But that didn’t stop her from elaborating, “I’ve taught a lot of people how to do tiktok dances before and he’s literally the only one I’m willin’ to keep teachin’ just ‘cause it’s always interestin’. "Jammy Jam!” She squealed, arms raising slightly as she spun herself slowly in a circle on the rotating stool she was sat on, stopping herself by placing her hands on the counter as it slowly crept up on her. “Or as I like to call him; Fave Gringo #5! Kinda like Mambo #5! If you don’t know that song are you... even livin’? It’s a masterpiece.” She paused, taking a moment to collect her thoughts as she looked down at her empty line of shot glasses. “But any-hways! Jamie is a true angel and that’s comin’ from the girl with ‘angel’ in her name! He’s always been a better brother to me than my eldest brother but... that ain’t all that hard t’do when he just sees me as a nuisance half the time. But it’s his loss ‘cause I can give my sisterly love to gringos who appreciate it! Like Jamie! I know that I can count on him for anythin’ even if sometimes I feel like I’m just botherin’. I want nothin’ but the best for Jamie and I’m kinda hopin’ that for the basket auction, he lands himself a cutie patootie ‘cause he deserves a chance to share that big ol’ heart of his with a girl worth his time. Laying on the ground as she watched a ceiling fan spin slowly, Mari’s lips turned into a gentle smile as she recalled various moments in her life involving Easton. “He’s honestly such a sweetie but I feel like sometimes he spends too much time carin’ ‘bout other people instead of thinkin’ ‘bout what he wants. What could make him feel like everythin’ is fine. I can literally list off all the times when I was away where I’d just sit on facetime doin’ my homework while he did his homework and talked about things he did during the day at school with his friends. He’s so smart, yanno?” She mused, rubbing at her eyes gently, “And his heart is so big which kinda explains why he acts like that but even I know when to say no.” Letting out a breath, as she let out a small chuckle, “But then again, he’s an amazin’ friend. I am genuinely still not over the fact that he would call me every single day when I wasn’t in Frostford if I didn’t happen to call him first. D’you know how alone I would have really been without them? Makin’ friends when you move just ‘bout every year is hard! It’s.... so hard...” 

She trailed off for a moment as fiddled with her fingers. “Even if... Even if a part me will always wonder if he only did that because we share a cousin and were kinda forced to get along. I don’t want to think like that ‘cause it kinda sends me down this spiral of other thoughts which really just make me sad. ---But we’re not going to go there!” She quickly changed her train of thought as she sat herself up, “He’s kind of a pain in my tracero and sometimes he can be a true hijo de puta but I genuinely don’t know if I could see him as anything else.” She scrunched her nose shortly after letting out a laugh, “I totally had a crush on him when I was thirteen but thank god I met the guy that turned into my first boyfriend shortly after ‘cause that would have been very hard to explain. I’ll keep pretending it never even was a thought in my mind.”

A bright smiled formed on the woman’s face as she held two cups in her hands, both with completely different beverages inside. As if she cared that that was dangerous when she was having a blast. “Tyla, my queeeeeen!” She almost screeched - as if that was a perfectly normal way to respond when you hear someone talking about a friend. Drinking from one of the cups until the contents were completely down her throat, Luna licked her bottom lip before continuing, “Don’t you dare say anythin’ bad about my Ty Ty in my presence or we’re goin’ to have some kind of issue. I don’t throw this card around often but my dad’s rich so I have to resources to ruin you! But back to the star of the show; have you seen her ass?” She paused, tossing her empty cup into the trash bin as she now held her other cup with both hands, teetering back and forth on her toes despite the fact that she kept stumbling in her heels. “It’s the perfect peachy shape! I one hundred percent expect people to be lookin’ at her ass because it’s iconthic. If nobody is out here smacking it, I will volunteer as the star tribute!” Yet another pause as she took a moment to look disgusted, “Wait... no... wrong fandom. Who even likes The Hunger Games when Jennifer Lawrence is fucking boring? ---Anywho! Throw my name into the goblet of fire!”

With one leg propped up on a chair, she used the hanging leg to gently swivel herself from one side to the other as she stared down at the empty shot glass in her hand. Head slowly tilting to rest on her own shoulder, not at all bothering to adjust the strands of hair in her face, “Have ya ever felt guilty over somethin’ that was out of your own control?” She questioned rhetorically, finally lifting a hand to move her hair since it was sticking to her mouth, “Or spent a solid day cryin’ because you had to say goodbye to everyone you’d known? It... It ain’t all that fun ‘cause in the end you carry this sense of... guilt over it seemin’ like you never wanted to stay in contact with someone when in fact you did your absolute best to do so. And in the end, that’s kinda all I can even think ‘bout when I think of Alina and the present. Inna way, she’s still the same sweet and fun girl that I knew when we were kids but... a lot can change in... oh my god, how many years?” There was a moments worth of pause as she straightened herself, chin now resting on her knee as she wiggled the empty shot glass in her hand, fixated on the way it shimmered, “We’re just strangers at the end of the day and I hate every aspect of it. I just... don’t know how to fix that.”
