Maggie: exactly! don't do it in public. I don't even like having attention when people sing happy birthday to me. I definitely don't want something like that.

Maggie: I love hallmark christmas movies! there's also this one movie I saw years ago that I loved... it was a hallmark movie and the girl is getting married, and she gets to redo her wedding day over and over until she realizes she doesn't even like her hubby but some other guy.

Maggie: I'm not sure the world could really handle many of me.

Mari: well, this puts a damper on my plans. maybe i could be super sneaky sneak and just slip them a sheet of paper with the question written down??

Mari: omg i don't know which one that is but that sounds so good! like.. can you imagine doing that over and over again and sparing yourself ever having to life your life thinking that you picked the wrong person? even if it probs gets annoying after like... the 4th time.

Mari: the world would be BLESSED with many of you, margaret duchanne, shut up.

“What? I can’t be Velma?” He asks, concern etched across his face. She really thought he was a Shaggy? He looked down at his clothes, frowning a little in the process. “I think I’m the Velma to your Daphne, Mar. Where are you getting Shaggy?” He knew he was being defensive but – she’d said he was Shaggy. Not even Scooby. “Uh. I’m good with stayin’ in my comfort zone if it involves ghosts,” he replies, but he knows there’s no point. No objection was changing her mind. “You really packed toilet paper?”

Her face scrunched as her brow raised, eyes scanning her friend from top to bottom as he vouched for himself in saying that he was more of a Velma than a Shaggy. But had he not just heard what he’d said? “E... don’t take this the wrong way but ya ain’t no Velma Dinkley ‘cause Velma wouldn’t be tellin’ me that she’d shit her pants over a little ghost huntin’. That’s the biggest Shaggy move ya could have pulled. I don’t see why you’re so upset over it either! Shaggy’s a great character! Yanno who ya don’t wanna be? Fred.” Truth be told, Mari was listening but not listening at the same time as he tried to counter, hands sliding into her jacket pockets. “Of course, dum dum! If the ghost huntin’ goes to crap - which it won’t but hypothetically - we could just do a campin’ thing and who goes campin’ without toilet paper? I also brought like... five bags of marshmallows.”

“I mean, I don’t really keep with the current “hot” tunes. Not that I haven’t given Gaga’s new album a deep dive, because I have. And it’s phenomenal, as expected.” He grinned. “I can definitely say that I’ve learned the Say So dance, though… “ He grinned, pulling out the Thank U, Next vinyl. “We love and support Ariana in this house.”

Letting out a small gasp, Mariangel was nodding her head, “We love and support Gaga always! She just seems like such a genuine and lovely person from what I’ve seen in interviews she’s done in the past. I think my favorite one off the album is Sour Candy or Plastic Doll.” Smile forming as he pulled out the vinyl, she pushed her her palm against her cheek as she propped her elbow, “Y’know, I’ve specifically thought of gettin’ a record player just so I can have her songs on vinyl.”

“Yeah, it is a good form of stress relief honestly. It’s the best part of breaking in the shoes,” Lucy said, letting out a laugh. She had always been very particular about her pointe shoes, especially when she was dancing at a professional level. “They do mess up your feet, but we try to limit that damage was much as possible. I always taped my toes or used toe pads. Having your shoes custom made for you helps a lot too.”

With her focus intently on Lucy, Mariangel nodded her head every second or two to show that she was fully engaged even if the images she’d seen of dancer feet still popped into her brain. “Have ya ever like... broken a toe or somethin’ ‘cause of your shoes? I... don’t really know how they get damaged but I’m assumin’ it’s mainly the toes? That’s so crazy! This just makes me all the happier that I never continued ballet ‘cause I d’know if I have the strength to do somethin’ like that.”

roxie nodded her head, watching the ferret on her shoulder and smiled.  “well, i’d love to have a pet in general.  but i feel like a dog would be better, since i live alone and all.”  she shrugged her shoulders as she spoke.  it was true, she thought it would be good.  but also, she’d always wanted a dog.  and hadn’t been able to get one when she’d been traveling after high school ended.  “oh, those are the tiny ones with the curly fluff on their ears, right?”

"A dog would make a lot more sense in your case then which I completely support!” Mari had always been that one person that would always tell people to just do something even if she hadn’t seen every possible angle but if it made Roxanne happy to get one, what was the real harm? “Yes! Every time I see ‘em whenever I’m on instagram or tiktok I always think they looking like a walking emoji. Yanno, the one that kinda looks like sad baby eyes? And their floppy little ears.. ugh! Angels! But we can totally think of other options too if ya don’t vibe with that one?”

“Not at all? I mean I feel like I’m going to need more training than she is. I just can’t resist her,” Elle shrugged. “A ferret? I can’t say I know anything about ferrets. Less needy, I’m guessing?”

"Well.... maybe in the future but my mami has three dogs - three german shepherds - and they’ve kinda made me question if I’m even able t’raise dogs on my own. I love ‘em, don’t get me wrong! Dogs was great! It’s just more of a personal thing. --Definitely less needy, though! She kinda spends most of her time sleepin’ and even when we go out, she stays close even when I don’t leash her. I did a lot of research before I actually got her so I can say they ain’t for everyone.”

Maisie lifted her head slowly, her lips pouted.  “Ice cream, definitely ice cream,” she sighed as she slowly got up.  “Do you think I should change my hair?” she asked suddenly as she started to walk, her fingers slowly combing through her red locks.

"Ice cream it is!” She said with nothing but an encouraging smile as she waited for Maisie to stand up. But once they had started walking, her thoughts lingered on the question even though she was soon shaking her head, “Of course not, Maisie! I think your hair is super fun and diff’rent! Unless ya... wanna change your hair ‘cause there ain’t nothin’ wrong with wantin’ a change. I get my balayage done every month and I really can’t picture myself with my natural hair color alone anymore.”

leo nods, “ah yes, i know what you mean. hearin’ them talk about life can definitely change your views.” for the most part, and there are definitely times when the man would be more blue than usual and a simple, off handed comment from a five years has him grinning. “i told him i snuck out.” he chuckles.

"Right?! This one little girl convinced me once that if the sky didn’t exist, the oceans would be crystal clear and I just... believed it without even questionin’ it from how confident she was.” Granted, some kids were a bit on the other end of the scale but it happened. “That’s so smart! As long as he doesn’t go askin’ where you keep your bed durin’ the day it’s also a safe one.”

“Fake boy band?” She asks, a small gasp leaving her lips. She blinks twice, leaning forward to drive forward her point. “Worldwide hits harder than Love Bug ever will. That song alone trumps everything and anything the Jo Bros ever did, easy. I’ll be taking no further questions, thank you.” She grins. “Nick? You’re gonna say the Jonas Brothers are better and you’re gonna pick Nick?”

A slightly louder gasp escaped Mariangel as her mouth hung open in pure horror over the words her friend had just said in her presence. “How dare you! Love Bug was ahead of it’s time and it will always be better than anythin’ any of these knock offs try t’pass off as music. Was Big Time Rush ever nominated for a Grammy? I think not, ma’m, and that’s my final statement.” Folding her arms over her chest, she did her best to avoid laughing, “What’s wrong with Nick? He’s stunning! And I ain’t gonna sell my soul and say Joe like every other basic girl who was obsessed with him when he was the most borin’ one.”

Eli had considered it. Not actually dating, but maybe the more… casual version of it. Though, that would take into account him having free time, which he didn’t exactly have much of. “You better not be goin’ on and settin’ me up with anyone,” he joked. “Mari, all you gotta do is smile at them. We ain’t exactly hard to please, they see a pretty girl like you and they’ll just fall at ‘ya feet,” he replied, a grin on his face. “Alright, I won’t get my hopes up.”

"Hypothetically speakin’, if I was to go and set you up with someone, what would ya be interested in? Only hypothetically!” Hypothetically but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t save his answer for later when it would be fitting. “Ya say that like it’s easy when all the boyfriends I’ve had took me like... three months to even say a single word to. Give or take a month or somethin’. ‘Sides... some boys are just plain stupid and ya could smile at ‘em and they’d just think there’s somethin’ wrong with my face. I appreciate the fact that ya think I’m capable of that, though. My confidence? She’s thrivin’.”

Lily handed over the money and stuck a $5 in the tip jar. “A tip for you, ma’am.” She winked at her friend and laughed. “Turn into a zombie? I thought you already knew that I was one. Well… an alien anyway. I still feel really out of place around here. –But I digress. I just lay down to try and sleep, and until that happens, I watch videos on my phone.” She shrugged. “I did that one where–” she stepped back to show Mari. She took her right hand and tapped her left shoulder then her right one, her arm going up in the air as she moved her hips. Then did the same on the other side. “–That one, but that’s it.”

Taking the money for the cone from Lily and placing it in the register, her eyes flickered to the money going into the tip jar which only made the girl let out a giggle, “Thank you, miss, much appreciated!” Listening to Lily, she offered the younger girl a gentle smile, “An alien is way better than a zombie, if ya ask me. ‘Sides, there ain’t nothin’ wrong with feelin’ outta place ‘cause I felt the same way when I moved back here when I was turnin’ sixteen. In time, you’ll adjust and everythin’ will get easier. For now, ya can be the cutest alien in all of Frostford. Have ya considered downloadin’ one of those meditation apps?” She suggested, eyes never leaving the cone in her hand until she’d stuffed it as much as she could, slipping it into a little cone sleeve before looking at Lily once more. Head tilting back as she smiled, “I love that one! It’s so simple but still cute. It’s almost as cute as the one where you just cover your face and move your hips. D’you know which one I’m talkin’ ‘bout?”

“See, I just wanna know what your favorite album of the year so far is? There are so many good ones already! 2020 ain’t backin’ down, yet.”

“Of... this year?” She questioned, brows furrowing since Mariangel was known for spending her time singing Disney songs or things from Tiktok, not anything that was Top 50 worthy. “I don’t even know what songs are popular right now that ain’t anythin’ by Doja Cat. The amount of times I sing Freak Like Me is gettin’... embarassin’. But my fave album last year was from my second queen Ariana Grande.”

roxie’s pink hair was down in curls around her face.  she’d driven out to mobile yesterday for an audition and had wound up spending the night with a friend before driving back into town.  now, since she had the day off, she was wandering through flipping through instagram as she looked around town.   she watched someone walk across the street with a dog and sighed, “okay, serious question.”  roxie said, turning to look at the person closest to her.  “should i get a dog?  this is not the time for pro con lists or expansive reasoning, this is the time for quickfire.  yes or no.  right now.”
