Harry was practically a regular at The Watering Can, so it was no surprise when he saw Colton behind the bar. “Wanna give your favorite customer a beer?” He asked, with a smirk. “How’s it goin’ man?”

“This is in no way a criticism on you, your drink making skills of this fine establishment. If anything, it’s a criticism on myself but...um, does a drink that would make me look manly but also tastes like juice exist? If not, can you invent one?” 

A slightly pained expression appeared on Mari’s face as she heard that particular name, “Oh, ya mean the reason I’m goin’ t’have grey hairs before I turn twenty three?” She didn’t take these statements lightly considering she had a lot of friends who fell into the dumb category in life but lord almighty did Asher leave her with headaches. “Don’t get me wrong! I adore him to pieces and think he’s very sweet - I mean, I reckon I wouldn’t talk to him if he wasn’t - but why is he so dumb? Who allowed this? Who’s location do I need in order to have this chat? I literally text him once a week - sometimes more dependin’ on what I hear - to make sure he hasn’t done anythin’ that’ll get him killed ‘cause I do not have an outfit for when I have to go and rescue him from being murdered. Pink and murder don’t go together. At all. This is what I get for bein’ such a good mom friend.” She took a moment as she pushed her hair behind her shoulders, “And can he please make up his mind if he’s datin’ Delilah Abernathy or not? I can not keep up with this kind of weird love you hate you relationship they’ve got goin’ on and it’s stressin’ me out.” Shaking her head, she pressed forward, “All I’m sayin’ is that my birthday is in October and if he doesn’t get me a nice gift for toleratin’ his drama, I am suing for reparations.”

“That man,” Annie grinned. “He’s gonna put a baby in me... I mean, we’d have t’have sex for that to happen, but it’s gonna... Eventually. Sooner rather than later. --I mean, look at ‘im.” She gestured towards the bar, where her beau was slinging drinks. “God, I could stare at him all day long... Y’wouldn’t even haf’ta pay me. I wanna scratch out the eyes of any girl who looks at ‘im. It just makes my blood boil, watchin’ them flirt with him for a free drink, hopin’ for more. --Look at her, see that blonde? I just wanna run up there and let her know that he’s mine. He’s goin’ home with me. I’m gonna marry him one day. I love him so much. He’s my whole heart.”

“Persimmon is like the sweetest most precious human honestly. Like how is she even real? Like I’m pretty sure she isn’t. But we’re gonna go with it.” She smiled with a little nod of her head as she sat down her drink. “How can someone be that precious? Like I need answers.”

“Di is my bar buddy and I love her for it! She’s so much fun and so gorgeous and we just always have the best time!” Morgan smiled taking another drink. “Like literally, getting home after we’ve been out is always a little disappointing and I can’t wait til we go do it again. “Also, shhhh don’t say anything, but this one time these guys we met in Mobile were like didn’t believe she was into girls, and they were like kiss your friend. So we did. She’s the only girl I’ve ever kissed.” She hid her head in her hands after letting the secret spill. “She’s a good kisser, just so everyone knows, like if they needed to know okay.”

“Listen, if you ever need a ride from Mobile, do not call Colton. He takes five years to get there and then he’s cranky and he reminds you you scratched his truck when you were 16, but like, no.” Morgan set the glass down on her final drink of the evening, definitely not needed more. She couldn’t help the giggle that followed. “No wait, I said that wrong, you call Colt. That’s right. He comes and gets your from anywhere. He’s my favorite. He’s bailed me and Haze out of more things than I can even count and I love him. He’s like another brother. Who needs siblings when you have cousins. They count. They matter too, okay. Colt matters and I love him.”
