“I don’t care if you think you look like godzilla when you wake up, you’re my beautiful godzilla.”

If there is one thing that Bucky hates more than anything else, it’s the fact that Sam wakes up at an ungodly hour to go on a morning run with Steve.

Scratch that. What Bucky hates more is the fact that every morning Sam chooses to wake him up with a kiss, before leaving him hanging and awake and exhausted as Sam goes on a morning run with Steve.

Today isn’t any different, and Bucky swears one day he’s going to kick Sam out of their bed and demands he goes sleep in another room if he’s going to do this every morning without fail.

Well, he swears this every morning, and he’s yet to do something about it beyond mumbling it to Sam.

Groaning as Sam presses kisses along his jaw and pulls away to get ready for his run, Bucky buries his face under his pillow. “You’re such a dirty tease, Wilson.” Bucky grumbles, pretty sure that Sam couldn’t even understand half of what he said.

“Well, it’s cause I’m just going to miss your handsome face while I’m gone, and I can’t resist kissing you before I go,” Sam says back, his chipper attitude only making Bucky more annoyed with him.

Still, it doesn’t keep his cheeks from warming in a blush that he’s glad is hidden by the pillow he’s hiding under.

“‘M not handsome in the mornings. I look like a monster. Fucking Godzilla.” Bucky gripes before he feels the bed dip as Sam sits beside him.

His blush deepens and he wants to curse more as Sam starts to move the pillow away, but those thoughts die as he looks up to find Sam staring down at him with nothing but pure love and affection.

“I don’t care if you think you look like Godzilla when you wake up, you’re my beautiful Godzilla.” Sam says, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to Bucky’s forehead.

He’s sure his entire face is red now, probably even redder then it’s ever been, but Bucky doesn’t mind, not with Sam looking at him like he is now, like he’s his entire world.

Biting down on his lower lip to keep his smile from taking over his whole face, Bucky grabs the front of Sam’s t-shirt to pull him in for another kiss. For as much as he wants Sam to just climb back into bed and forego running altogether, he keeps it short and lets him go when Steve begins knocking at the door.

Giving a final peck to Sam’s nose, Bucky falls back into bed and smiles up at him, murmuring a soft, “Love you, Sam.”

It puts a bright smile on his boyfriend’s face as he pats Bucky’s knee and turns to head towards the door, “Love you too, babe.”

Closing his eyes with a contented sigh, listening as Sam answers the door and talks to Steve as he gets his shoes on, he tries to go back to sleep as the hears the front door shut behind them and silence fills the house once more as they leave.

Even as he lays there exhausted, trying to find sleep once more, it doesn’t happen and Bucky grumbles once more about how unfair Sam really is as he climbs out of bed. Heading to the kitchen and getting the coffee going, he might as well make breakfast too while he’s up.

As much as he absolutely hated every moment of being up so early and making breakfast and having to wait for coffee, Bucky decides it isn’t all bad to be up so early in the morning. Especially when Sam and Steve get back and they invite Steve in to join them, the beaming smile on Sam’s face still lasting after breakfast is over and Steve’s left. Even still after he’s showered and climbs back into bed with Bucky to let him sleep for an extra hour.

Snuggling up close to Sam and letting out a heavy sigh, Bucky can’t fight the small smile that tugs at his lips as Sam kisses his head and runs a hand through his hair.

Bucky learns why he’s so suspicious of shower stalls the very next morning. Unfortunately, he learns it via a flashback that ends with him  punching straight through the glass wall of the little cubicle, because apparently it’s still too close to a cryotube for his hindbrain’s liking even when suffused with steam and sporting some of the ugliest pink floral tiling ever to fall off the back of a truck careening away from the ceramics factory.

OOF i love bianca SO MUCH!!! i’ve known her for less than a year but she has become one of my best friends, someone i can always count on, someone who will pine for boston with me and someone who i KNOW will always be my friend even outside this website and fandom in general 💖 i think she’s one of the smartest, kindest people i know and has such an amazing way with words and is always there for her friends even we (read @steviebarnes and I lmfao) bully her sjkfbjksfdb anyway i adore bianca and im so glad i get to see her AGAIN in two weeks 💖💖💖

i think i knew about/followed charlie’s writing from when he wrote for teen wolf and i just remember thinking how AMAZING his writing is and even now, when he writes for stevebucky he has such an amazing way of writing, it’s beautiful but not overtly verbose and just generally *chefs kiss* amazing 💖 i can’t actually remember how we got talking but it was probably me annoying him but im so glad we’re friends because he’s so sweet and funny and wonderful and has the most beautiful dog :’) i love him and he deserves alllll the good things life can bring 💖💖💖
