The daglan/Asteri created the Illyrian’s, right? Just as they created the Malakim (the upgraded version) in CC. Now, I might just be going off the deep end, but since the Asteri once had access to Hel before they got defeated, and ones heart literally got eaten, would it be far fetch to assume the Asteri got some of the Illyrian DNA originally from Hel's occupants?
I mean, Illyrian aren't High fae or lesser fae. They're just Illyrian’s, right? That's what was stated. They also ring no similarities to any of the other fae's in Prythian and their wings, bat-like, are quite hellish in appearance. Their power, killing (whatever that truly entails) is stereotypically Hel-like vibes, though not innately bad. They're built for fighting like no other, strong and formidable. Hel has been fighting the Asteri forever and said to be even helping other worlds kick them to the curb.
Being descendants from Hel would be an interesting world building plot. Have one of the Seven Princes of Hel just randomly showing up in Prythian to take them home where they could flourish, be accepted, and be better, because their current standing in Prythian bred generations of unchecked and down right encouraged toxicity in order to sustain their warriors current mindset.
All of the Illyrian's world hopping would be hilarious. It would also just make me happy to see Rhysand lose 1/3 of his biggest assets when he doesn't even like them anyway. While we're at it, Nesta, take yourself, your weapons, your Troves, and your Valkyrie elsewhere. Let Rhysand rely solely on his self-assured, most powerful, High Lord status.
I'm petty, I don't care.
