“What’re you thinking?” Jason asks him, voice deep with sleep. “‘He shouldn’t be here’.” Dick says.  It’s not his foremost thought at that moment, but it’s a close enough second. “Well, damn,” Jason says, a breath of laughter pulling past his lips.  He lifts his head from where it had been laying on Dick’s arm, props himself up enough to look down at Dick with a teasing smirk.  “You sure know how to make a working boy feel special, jerk.” Dick rolls his eyes at the theatrics, but is charmed all the same.  Jason reaches over him, leaning forward until their lips are a hair’s breadth away and Dick can feel it–that wicked smile.  Jason pauses just above him, waiting because he’s always known how to make himself tempting. “Didn’t realize we were done, but okay,” He says, pulling away after he’s grabbed hold of his cloak from where it had landed on the other side of the bed.  The deep red drags over Dick’s torso when Jason moves to leave, but before he can get too far Dick is already reaching out–his magic pulling Jason back towards him until Dick can touch Jason for himself. “Not like that,” Dick says, laughter soft under his breath.  Jason goes along with him without a fight, laying his head to Dick’s shoulder and letting his cloak fall off the edge of the bed to pool on the floor.  With a kiss to the crown of Jason’s head, Dick says again, “Never like that.” “Gonna make me blush, sweet talking like that.” Jason says, his tone light.  Playful, even. Dick smiles to himself, bending the arm Jason lays on top of so that he can brush his fingers over Jason’s exposed shoulder.  The light touch makes Jason shiver and turn further into Dick’s space.  It’s familiar.  Comforting.  Dick sighs contentedly.  “I like when you do,” He says, just as light.  Just as playful, because he knows talking like this will make Jason blush–cheeks stained pink and the tips of his ears burning.  And Dick is honest when he says it, that he likes that.  It’s sweet and endearing and softness like that is sorely missing from Dick’s life. Jason scoffing and pinching Dick’s side in retaliation is all the proof Dick needs to know he was successful in getting Jason to actually blush.  He laughs again, soft and quiet.  Realizes he hasn’t been able to stop smiling and laughing and being happy all night since he caught Jason in that homecoming crowd, since he got Jason pressed against that wall during all the celebrations and brought him back here– “What did you mean then?” Jason asks. “You should have run.” Dick says.  He means it, too.  No matter what relief and comfort he found at the sight of Jason upon returning–Dick wants better for him.  Jason is too good for this place.  Too kind and too sensitive and too gentle.  Cold stone and still water and grey skies aren’t suitable for someone as fierce and warm and wild and alive as Jason. “You should have run,” Jason argues. It makes Dick smile, small and brittle. "Where else would I go but here?"

More details: there's a magical hierarchy in this AU where 'Kings' are at the top. The Court's King recognized Dick as having potential for kinghood, so before Dick has a chance to come into his own, the Court uses their magic to oppress him ('compulsion') and it's sadness for Dick. There's a magical noose around his neck that keeps him in line; a short leash that keeps him from doing anything and strangles him when he steps out of line.

That doesn't stop Dick's magic though, which grows even when Dick is so stifled. And aaaaaaaahhhhhhh I've the biggest thing for Dick w/ gravity magic just:

The Court molded him into a knight, a talon at their foot.  He’s always been theirs to use, however they want to use him.  His value is in how his magic can be manipulated and Dick—it’s been so long that he doesn’t think there’s anything left to it but crushing weight and endless pressure. (It crumbles the earth and makes the skies shudder and presses the breath straight from the lungs of anyone who gets too close—) Dick doesn’t want to hurt anyone, but Kings…he’s not sure they’re capable of protecting anything.  It’s all just conquest and Dick is their weapon to achieve that. (And Dick is good at it.  His fingers are still stained dark with his own magic—from tearing a country down past its foundation and bringing a battlefield to their knees; heart racing and hands trembling and feeling—) It doesn’t matter the King, Dick thinks to himself.  He’s a pawn to be used by them.  Always, forever, and he hates it.

This is an AU I can't explain well but have a lot of feelings about hahaha, so I'm sorry that not much makes sense! Thank you for asking about this one though. (๑´>᎑<)~*

• Westeros has different creatures all over the Seven Kingdoms. Different regions breed different creatures. Gryffins in The Vale, Stone Trolls in The Stormlands, Selkies in The North, Minotaurs in Dorne— even Centaurs roam Essos. And House Clegane is built off the bones of those monsters

• Sandor Clegane, like his brother and father and grandfather, is a hunter. He took bounties, killed whatever creature was unlucky enough to be spotted too close to town. It was no different from killing regular animals for meat, for blankets, for weaponry or armor. You were supposed to be no different too

• He set traps for you— whatever you were. Not one bloody soul from the village you apparently stole from had seen you, so he was wary about just what kind of creature he was working with

• You hung upside down from a tree, your ankle snared and bleeding from the wire. Sandor never felt bad about hurting monsters, he wasn’t about to start now. No matter how hard your watery eyes tugged at his rib cage oddly

• The moment Sandor stepped too close, a burst of.. something shot out of your outstretched hands and blasted him back into the bushes. By the time he sat up, you were darting the opposite way

• The Hound didn’t like being bested, he didn’t want to face Gregor’s wrath when he came home empty handed. He couldn’t go back without a prize, but the longer he stalked you the more he was curious about you. He’d never seen anything like you before in his life, not with his own two eyes and never in any book
