Tama wraps her arms around herself as she rubs her shoulders, trying to warm herself up more. She was leaning against Absol, with the Pichu Brothers huddled between them and Hoopa floating about with worry. A Macargo was sitting in front of them, the poor Fire-Type looking a bit confused but otherwise fine.
"Still can't make a portal, Hoopa?" Tama asks softly, body shivering still.
Hoopa shakes his head, dejected.
Tama sighs softly. "It's not your fault, Hoopa.. that shadow thing was really weird.."
She flicks her ears in hopes of activating that weird hearing thing she has, but theres nothing. Its all muffled, and theres a soft ringing that she's pretty sure is from her head slamming into the ground when the shadow spat her out.
"Hey, Macargo?" She speaks up softly to the Pokémon. "Do you.. want to come with us?" She smiles nervously. "Please?"
The Pokémon eyes her before letting out an affirmative "Macargo."
Thankful for that, Tama stands up. The Pichu Brothers snuggle themselves on either side of her neck, and Absol stands close to her. With Hoopa easily picking up Macargo, the group began to walk.
Snow was endless, covering every square inch. The trees were a snowy white, the sky was a deep gray, and the ambient sounds were so loud.
Born of cold and winter air and mountain rain combining..
Tama glances around as they get to the edge of a forest, looking around. She felt a small shift in her, and she could hear the clinking of armor. Instrurtments and music.
She gestures for the Pokémon to be quiet as they continue to walk.
This icy force, both foul and fair, has a frozen heart worth mining.
Tama wrapped her arms around herself, rubbing them as she tried to stay warm. Even if Macargo was nearby, she still felt very, very cold. Like her heart was frozen over or something of the sort.
Strike for love and strike for fear.
See the beauty, sharp and clear.
Tama paused when she spotted something in the distance. She tilted her head and pointed. "Absol? Do you see that?"
"Sol?" Absol tilted her head before her eyes narrowed. In the distance, she saw something. A camp, maybe?
Split the ice apart, and break the frozen heart.
Tama tripped on a hidden root. With a shriek, she went tumbling down the hill, the Pichu Brothers managing to hop off just before.
She heard the cries of the Pokémon as she tumbled, but she couldn't stop herself. She stopped rolling eventually, stopping some dozen or so feet from the encampent.
Hup! Ho!
Watch your step! Let it go!
Tama rubs her head and looks up. Her ears pin back when she sees several fully armored soldiers staring at her, their own eyes wide. Soon enough the Pokémon were by her sides, and the soldiers were drawing their weapons and instruments.
"Oh Muses," Tama whispers.
Hup! Ho!
Watch your step! Let it go!
Tama scrambles to her feet and runs as fast as she can, just narrowly dodging whatever arrows and spells are shot at her. She can hear the Pokémon fire their own attacks before rushing after her.
Beautiful, powerful, dangerous, cold!
"Run, run, run.." Tama whispers under her breath as she kept on running. She shrieks in fear when an arrow whizzes past.
Ice has a magic can't be controlled.
She hears the distinct sound of something bubbling. Just like the bubbling she hear before she and Tiresias were grabbed by the strange, stinging shadows.
Stronger than one, stronger than ten..
Tama turns around and stumbles as she runs, looking down at her shadows. The Pokémon bolt past her.
Stronger than a hundred men.
It's grown larger and a pair of yellow eyes are glaring at her.
And the shadow moves and grows, swallowing them up, leaving bewildered soldiers watching.
The stinging shadows spit her out in what's clearly a castle. Cold, freezing cold. Icy pillars..
And the sound of someone approaching.
Born of cold and winter air and mountain rain combining..
This icy force, both foul and fair, has a frozen heart worth mining.
Tama scrambles to her feet as, from behind a pillar, Queen Fleurette emerged. She held in her paw a rune.
Cut through the heart, cold and clear.
With a flick of the queen's tail, ice shards began to shoot at the Pokémon, forcing them to run and dodge, rushing away from Tama.
Queen Fleurette approached, her heels clacking.
Tama's breath grew quicker as she fell back, continuing to back away.
Fleurette's eyes narrowed, clutching the rune tighter. Hesitation and determination flowed in her eyes.
And there's danger here..
Tama's ears pinned back as she stared up at the queen, terrified.
The queen tossed the rune.
Beware the frozen heart..
Tama cries out as it hit her square in the chest. A horrible freeze goes over her body as she sits and wraps her arms around herself.
The Pokémon, no longer being assaulted by ice, ran over to her as Fleurette watched. Tama tried to get up, tried to stand, but.. she couldn't..
She opened her eyes and stared in horror to see they were frozen.
Pichu Big and Pichu Little let out terrified cries, trying to nudge her as Macargo moved closer, trying to warm her up.
As the ice spreads to her abdomen, Tama looks to Fleurette helplessly.
"I'm sorry, little kit," the queen murmurs. "But this is for the greater good."
Shadows and ice move, and the Pokémon are gone. Sent back to Luminos, not that Tama knows.
The ice freezes Tama over, and the kit takes her final breath.
Fleurette stands there, looking at the frozen one. At the back of her mind, something nags her that this is wrong. Something about Lumiere's mutterings, about needing two things..
Muses, she could hardly think.
Somewhere, very faintly, she swears she can hear a scream of despair.
