So being protective is kind of a broad theme throughout Korrasami fics. The only thing is is that usually Asami isn’t written as the ‘damsel in destress’ too often because she is a very strong female character. So a lot of these fics also have Asami being protective of Korra. These are all mainly long and hefty fics, full of angst, fluff, action, and/or smut, literally anything you could imagine. I also tend to read fics that are mature or explicit rated, so that also limits my recommendations.

Iroh couldn’t help but smile at the thought of seeing the play later on tonight. “Yeah I can’t wait to see the actors on stage in their costumes. It's based on the historical attire of the Sun Warriors. The accuracy will be the real sight to see,” he said knowing he’d be making comparisons during the duration of the show. 

Asami placed the plate of bacon right next to the pancakes. “Well until then let's sit down and eat shall we?”

Korra took a seat at the table as did Iroh. “So got any birthday wishes in mind?” she asked curiously. 

“Besides the play. I haven’t really thought about anything else,” Iroh said eyeing the huge pancake in the stack.

“I’m sure you’ll come up with something,” Asami said, placing an orange juice in front of him. “Korra what do you want to drink?”

Korra rubbed her hands together looking at the spread of food. “With a meal like this. I’ll take a big ol’ glass of milk please,” she said ready to dig in.

Iroh perked up in his chair when he heard that. “Oh me too!” he said, wanting some himself.

“Alright two glasses of milk coming up,” Asami said, taking out the carton of milk from the fridge. She poured two cups worth and brought it over to the table. “Here you go.”
