Who could have expected that it wasn't Bravern who is the resident yandere...
Tanaka Atsuko, who was the VA for the Empress from “The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master," Frances Midford from “Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji,” Konan from “Naruto,” Hanami from “Jujutsu Kaisen,” Knuth from “Bang Brave, Bang Bravern,” and the first-ever film I’ve seen that showcased her voice as the lead character Matoko from “Ghost in the Shell” passed away today, August 20, 2024, according to her son, Hikaru.
From Yatagarasu official Twitter/X:
Tanaka Atsuko played the role of the scheming Empress with grace and a dignified voice. We offer our deepest condolences.
So many iconic characters that she portrayed and interpreted. One could only hope that she passed away peacefully.
I’d like to add Yana T’s editor homage:
Tanaka Atsuko.
Francis/Frances Midford in Black Butler.
She is extremely popular as she is the only human character that the main character, Sebastian Michaelis, the demon, fears.
Among the original actors, Tanaka was the one who had the "world's strongest female voice."
I can't believe she was recording the anime that aired this year while she was battling illness... Her acting was so cool I didn't even notice.
thank you very much.
From Yana T:
Upon hearing of the passing of Atsuko Tanaka, we offer our heartfelt condolences.
I had no idea that she was battling illness during the filming of "Public School arc"...
Tanaka's strong, gentle and dignified voice was exactly what I imagined Frances to be like.
Thank you for giving the butler a pep talk.
From Mutsumi Tamura, the VA of Yukiya, “Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master”:
I don't want to believe it...
She was a very dear senior to me, and I pray from the bottom of my heart that she passed away peacefully.
From Masami Obari, the director/show runner of “Bang Brave, Bang Bravern”:
It was a great honour to work with you again last year...
I really wanted to ask Tanaka-san...
The discussion about the roles was fun.
I was moved by the performance, which exceeded my expectations.
We would like to express our deepest condolences to Atsuko Tanaka.
thank you very much.
And lastly from Junichi Suwabe, the voice of Ryomen Sukuna and Undertaker:
I'm at a loss for words
Me too. Don’t know why I am affected. So many characters that I know and love.
my Bang Brave Bang Bravern hunger games highlights
Also in case you are wondering
Pessimism somehow won
Hang on... haven't we seen Cunus/Knuth before?
Hmmm...
WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!
Sure, some of the proportions are a bit off, but that's definitely her.
I don't think this is the last we've seen of either of them.

This is probably proof I just need to go to sleep on time more but whatever!
So I had this idea where randomly Bravern has a spike of Masochistic Horniness (courtesy of Cunus/Knuth) kinda like going into heat and he hides himself with some (dramatic) BS excuse as to why he wishes not to be bothered. Isami isn’t buying the BS, goes to find Bravern. Horny Hijinks ensues.
At Silicon Valley's Computer History Museum, the senior curator just announced the results of a multi-year recovery and restoration process: making available 21 never-before-seen video recordings of a legendary 1976 conference: For five summer days in 1976, the first generation of computer rock sta...
If you work with computers, stop and look at this. The Computer History Museum has found and restored videos from a 1976 conference on the first 25 years of computing. This is akin to videos of the constitutional convention of 1787.
I still don’t understand how multiplication works conceptually
It's shorthand for iterated addition. I can do 2+2. I can do 2+2+2. But if I want to add like, nine 2's together, well I can do it but but I don't want to write it out. So I write 9x2. Multiplication has it's own version of this. I can do 2x2. I can do 2x2x2. But if I wanna multiple nine 2's together, I write 2⁹, so iterated multiplication is exponentiation. Does this keep going? Yeah sure, because mathematicians decided it should. What if I want to do 2^2^2... With nine 2's? That's iterated exponentiation and it's called tetration, and we write it ⁹2. Okay but surely that's it right? We're done?
Of course not! This is math! We do what we want! And by "we" I mean a guy called Donald Knuth, who decided he was gonna start writing 2⁹ as 2↑9 and ⁹2 as 2↑↑9 and I'm sure you can see where this is going. This notation clearly allows for iterated tetration, called pentation! You want to tetrate 2 nine times, you absolute maniac? Well, that's 2↑↑↑9. You want to pentate 2 nine times? Well, I'm not responsible for what happens to you if you write 2↑↑↑↑9. You might want to turn back now. Writing too many arrows? Try writing ↑ⁿ. You asked for it.
Or maybe you just asked about multiplication. I suppose you can think of it as the precursor to Knuth's up-arrow notation. That is, ↑⁰. I guess you could think of it as iterated addition if you think of addition as ↑⁻¹. That should work out fine. I hope this helped! Good luck!
