That’s 130,600+ - an average of well over 3000 per day.

That’s more than I wrote in all of 2018, 2019 and 2020 combined.

In ALL of 2020 I wrote less than 6000 words of creative fiction. I’ve written more in the last two days than all of 2020.

I wish someone had told me this was possible, to get it back like this, after almost 2 years of desperate depression. I hope I never take my creative muse for granted again but know I probably will. I’ve also realised that I need to pay attention. If I feel less creative it is also a sign that I’m not well.

This is a fic I’ve been playing around with since March of this year. It’s self-indulgent in that I love Red’s attitude when it comes to the people around him and I wanted to inflict it on Dean, and I wanted an excuse for Dean and Dembe as well as Dean and Liz to interact. To see more of Dembe.

The reader and Liz don’t know why, but there’s a man living with Red who never speaks when anyone else is there, and he’s almost always on his knees, close to where Red or Dembe are at any given time.

It’s told through Dean’s eyes, but as Liz discovers more, so does the reader.

Liz assumes Dean is a slave who is terrified of Red and Dembe because who in their right mind would kneel and stay quiet without acknowledging her even when she tries to talk to them?!

Liz won’t let it go even though Red avoids the subject in that way that he does while never lying to her.

The reason for the title is that Liz has no idea Dean is an experienced hunter and just as competent and deadly as Red and Dembe, but he has a connection to Red that keeps him safe from something that’s after him, and in the meantime he’s fallen for both Red and Dembe.

I’m playing with the idea of Red being asexual or grey-asexual who enjoys D/s or even just mild play while there’s a physical relationship between Dembe and Dean.

And as you’ve probably guessed having known me for years, there’s discipline too. I’m not sure how much play I want in the fic yet, but I do have some ideas for Sam and Cas to enter the picture as well.

Here’s a snippet:

"Are you okay?" Liz asked again as she walked up to Dean and crouched in front of him.

Dean kept his eyes on the floor. Even if he wanted to answer her, he hadn’t been told he could. And he really didn't want to answer her anyway. He swallowed around the gag resting on his tongue. The gag appeared from the outside to only cover his mouth, but the plastic piece that penetrated his mouth kept him from even trying to communicate with anyone.

"It's time to go, Elizabeth," Raymond said in a tone that had Dean squirming again.

Dean knew better than to ignore that tone, but apparently Liz didn't know or didn't care.

"Why is he bound and gagged on the floor?" she asked, turning her laser focus on Raymond.

Dean understood why she was questioning it. It was obvious to someone as observant as Liz that he hadn't been beaten. That he wasn't one of the many criminals Raymond had captured over the years to pull what information he could from until he was done with them. Dean was different, and Liz could tell.

"Who is he?" she asked.

"Time is of the essence," Raymond said, standing up. He picked up the manila envelope from the coffee table and held it out to her.

Liz stood up and took the envelope from him as if she couldn’t care less about it. “If I find his body...," she threatened, leaving it open ended because what could she really threaten Raymond Reddington with?

"Noted," Raymond said shortly as he sat back down.

Dean stayed in position as Liz left and he was alone with Dembe and Raymond once more, his body relaxing as the tension left with her.

"Come here," Raymond said softly.

Dean was moving before Raymond finished speaking. He knee-walked across the rug and kneeled between Raymond's legs, looking up at the man.

"You did well," he said, running his right index finger over Dean's left cheek.

This was the perfect prompt to pull out for Harry’s birthday, thanks sugar!! <333 Sorry it’s 85 years later! This is also already up on AO3 if you would like to read it there.--------------------“Where are we going?” Harry asked for the third time, trying to worm a finger under the fabric obscuring his view. He stumbled over what felt like a rock and Draco caught him.“We’re almost there, just trust me.” Draco’s voice sounded to his left and Harry turned towards it instinctively. “Stop fiddling with that, it’s charmed so that you can’t take it off.”After their dinner Draco had produced a shimmering, slinky scrap of fabric and asked Harry to put it on. Harry had been wary at first, but he agreed to wear the blindfold anyway. Draco led him on a dizzying path; Harry felt like they’d gone in circles twice and he had a sneaking suspicion that Draco was doing it on purpose to throw him off.A warm breeze ruffled his hair. He could smell the sweet scent of summer in the air; the heat of the day was slowly seeping away, but everything still smelled like sunshine. Harry heard a cricket chirping, singing its song to the world.His lips reluctantly tugged into a smile as Draco’s hand found his, easily slipping his fingers along Harry’s palm and entwining them with Harry’s. He gave Harry’s hand a squeeze and Harry could sense him leaning closer, his warmth invading his space, wrapping around him like a comforting blanket.“It’s just ahead,” Draco murmured. He leaned even closer and brushed his soft lips against Harry’s ear, making him shiver.“This is some set up. You’re really building the anticipation. What if I find the surprise to be a bit dull after all of this mystery and intrigue?” Harry teased. He pressed his lips together to contain the laugh that wanted to break free into the night air.“Hush, you,” Draco said, releasing Harry’s hand to give his arse a swat. He held Harry’s hand again and pulled him to a stop. “We’re here. Finite Incantatem.”The blindfold melted away from Harry’s face like water running down an incline. He blinked as he looked around. They were standing in a grassy field bordered by a few copses of trees. Harry could see their cottage in the distance, slightly down a hill. Their garden light was twinkling.“You walked me around in circles for that long to bring me up here?” Harry asked, turning towards Draco.They spent time in the field often. Harry had asked Draco to marry him in this field. They played Quidditch scrimmages with their friends on the weekends and flew together after dinner during the workweek. Harry loved the field, but he’d much rather be enjoying a Firewhisky in their garden, with his husband sat in his lap, both of them barefoot and murmuring to each other in low voices.He was tired after closing an intense case two days prior, and he just wanted to spend his birthday curled around Draco, re-learning each of his sharp edges and soft crevices.

When Harry entered the dorm room, he came to an abrupt halt. Heat surged through him, and he felt his mouth go dry. Clattering wood echoed around the room, as he dropped his broom. His eyes found the Amortentia before they found Malfoy. It was an open vial on Malfoy’s desk.

There was another abrupt sound of scraping wood as Malfoy shoved his chair back, standing in a hurry and corking the vial.

It was too late.

Harry was halfway across the room, lightheaded, dizzy, all his attention now on Malfoy. He felt more alive than he had in awhile. His veins seems to be buzzing. He was shaking.

“Shit, Potter, you—”

Harry cut him off, pressing their mouths together, as well as their bodies. There was a rustling sound as Malfoy’s hands scrabbled over the desk he was pushed against roughly. He made a startled sound, and then he was pushing at Harry’s chest.

Groaning, Harry fought the haze clouding his mind, and parted their lips. Malfoy craned his head away, looking at him wide eyed, mouth agape. The motion expose his neck, a long pale line, tendons flexing. The sight sent a surge of heat rushing south, and Harry groaned and lowered his head to mouth at the fluttering pulse that was visible at the base of Malfoy’s throat.

Malfoy made a high, whining sound, his whole body relaxing so suddenly that Harry had to press him against the desk harder, holding him up with his body so he didn’t slide to the floor.

Favorite Fic: Without a doubt: Once Upon a Dream. I love fairytales and I love fairytale adaptations, so figuring out how to work the stories of the characters into the fairytales, finding the parallels, was a lot of fun. Plus, I got to put a whole bunch of ships in one story!! And I can’t forget the artist who made beautiful art for it, of course! 

Hardest Fic: Again, Once Upon a Dream. I’m a ficlet writer at heart, so staying focused on this one story for a longer time was really hard for me. The fact that it was part of a Big Bang, and there was a due date helped a lot. And though figuring out all the fairytales was fun, it was also a pain in the ass.

(honorable mention for Heroes of My Heart, because I had to rewrite it 2 days before the due date, which was when I realized it was in the wrong POV)

Do You Plan to Take Prompts in 2017? Yes, I do!!

What was the best thing about 2016? I wrote some things for new fandoms (Shadowhunters, Shannara Chronicles, All for the Game, Criminal Minds fic, Wynonna Earp), and loved getting inside all these new characters. Doing the Sterek Summer Bingo was also a ton of fun, challenging, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

What was the worst thing about 2016? The writers block that hit me in September, and still isn’t really over.

Goals for 2017: Finally, finally, FINALLY!!! finish and post the main story for the Leather&Liquor series (my Sterek A/B/O Biker/Biker Bar AU), and finish my Teen Wolf bingo card (I’m so close!).
