One of the funnier book-to-book moments is how in Words of Radiance Sadeas and Ialai are spitballing what to do next and they're like "we could go back to the capital and capture the queen and take over that way, it'll be easy, nothing's happening over there" and then in Oathbringer we see what's going on in the capital and it turns out the queen has become a warlock and is feeding the city to the crab gods.

We don't know much about Alethela in the shadow days. We do know that Nohaden, an Alethi king, founded the Knights Radiant.
It also seems clear that there remained a strong link between the Alethi and the Radiants for long afterwards.
The number 10 appears a lot in Vorin culture, but I wonder if there is a link between the fact that the Radiants were divided into 10 orders and Alethela was divided into 10 princedoms.
Did each princedom have a specific order associated with it? Which order was Kholinar associated with and what does this mean?
Imagine if Dalinar dies and Shallan and Adolin decide not to lead the princedom, like how they didn’t become king and queen. But then it goes to Renarin and his, hopefully at that point, husband Rlain. One of the highprinces would be a Listener.

Here’s a weird thought. In Alethi culture, they soulcast people’s bodies into stone once they die, but what happens if you were to meatmance them back into meat?
Is there going to be a grand plot where they try and bring Gavilar back from the dead by employing the powerful skills of a meatmancer to meatify his stone? Or would he just be a big Gavilar shaped chunk of wobbling meat?
I once read a post about Oathbringer as a sitcom, but I can't find it. Anyway, here are ideas for
Siege of Kholinar as a sitcom
Begins with a zoom-in of the tailor's shop from across the street, with a groovy jingle.
"Same thing we do every day, team, try to rescue the city."
Running joke of Elhokar always saying "you," "hey," "hero," "Windrunner," or "captain" instead of calling Kaladin by his name.
Endless costume changes for Adolin.
Maybe Adolin will take Shallan to go see the impossible falls.
More Skar and Drehy time.
More Ishnah, Vathah, and Red time.
Useless competition between team Windrunner and team Lightweaver escalates dramatically.
Windows are constantly used like doors, even though there are perfectly good doors.
Rooftops are constantly used for quiet talks, even though there are perfectly good rooms inside.
Occasionally, other people from Urithiru drop in and leave inexplicably.
Every time Wit appears, he breaks the fourth wall. Other characters don't understand who he's talking to.
Yokska and her husband provide common sense. They have to, because nobody else does.
There is a beach episode, but it's still in the tailor's shop, with Shallan's lightweaving.
Of course there's a musical episode.
During the musical episode, Shallan, Veil, and Radiant sing a lovely song together in round.
Also during the musical episode, the Singers come at the city wall with drum beats. Wall guards answer with rapping. Singers respond with aerial dance moves. Wall guards respond with spear-dancing. Contest ends in a tie and mutual respect.
Status quo is king, so the city never gets rescued, but it never falls, either.
It has a darker and edgier sequel/spin-off, Shadesmar as a sitcom.
Ten large glyphs, written directly on the stone of the floor running up to the dais with the king’s Common Throne. The glyphs listed the ten foolish attributes, as represented by the ten fools. Beside each glyph was a written paragraph in women’s script explaining how the queen exemplified each of the fools.
Lhan read with horror. This . . . this didn’t just chastise. It was a condemnation of the entire government, of the lighteyes, and of the Throne itself!
Pai was executed the very next morning.
The riots started that evening.
