Rewrote a drabble from a long time ago to be a slightly longer thing. It’s very Keith-centric. Hope y’all like it.

Summary: “Iverson!” they were interrupted by a voice at the door, “Have you seen the reports of- Oh! Keith! Sorry, didn’t mean to interrupt.” Sam Holt stood in the door looking between Iverson and Keith.

“Mr. Kogane was just informing me about an issue with his living situation, I should only be a minute, Holt,” Iverson said.

“Living situation? Katie didn’t mention you were having issues, Keith,” Sam didn’t move from the door.

“It’s nothing,” Keith said, “I just haven’t found a place to stay outside the Garrison, nothing bad.”

“Oh, you can come stay with us. We have a spare room that you can use, and Katie says you paladins are family, and in the Holt household, family is welcome anytime.”

“Well then that’s settled,” Iverson said, “Holt what were you saying about reports?”

Keith can see ghosts. As a part of his Garrison training, he's sent to a hospital to do one year of medical clerkship - it's there that he meets a charmingly irritating ghost who definitely needs to learn what boundaries are.

Keith centric angst (klance)

Summary: A year later his homeroom teacher notices the bruises on Lance’s arms and calls CPS. He’s held in a white room with an X-box and child friendly games while his parents argue with the care worker. He trusts his parents and he’s not stupid. He knows what’s happening while he beats Donkey Kong. His mother and father grab him two hours later after his physician comes to explain the situation. Apparently, it’s a frequent occurrence for parents who abuse their children to blame it on the skin-to-skin soulmate marks. Lance feels a little sick when his father explains the situation to him.

The year after that he gets the cuts. Thin red lines going across his right and left wrists alternatively, disappearing after a day or two depending on the severity of the injury. Lance is twelve years old and he knows about this stuff. Knows what it means and how his soulmate must feel to cause it. He cries alone in his room until his older brother storms in and demands he comes down to dinner. The resulting talk removes the boy’s appetite.

“Aw,” the druid coos, “So much fire. So much rage in that trembling heart of yours. It’d be a shame if I simply quashed it, wouldn’t it?” Keith stares straight at the druid. He bores his eyes into the shine of its face and looks his reflection dead in the eye. “Fuck—you.” The druid tips its head all the way back till its face is far out of sight and it laughs. It shrills and twitches and ticks and shakes. “So much fire!” It shrieks. “So much fire and it’s—” The druid reaches forward and wraps its long fingers around Keith’s face. They’re like icicles searing his skin with blinding cold. It might’ve drawn blood. He doesn’t know. “—all gone.” The druid faces him again. “All gone.” Keith shivers under the touch. He doesn’t understand. “What?” - A Blade mission goes astray when Keith has an unfortunate run-in with a druid. He falls sick soon after, and is handed into Voltron’s care until he recovers. While he’s there, he contemplates his place in the universe, the depth of his illness and its mysterious connection to Lance, and why he’s not getting better.
