Natalie gasp

Steve: I mean Eddie!

Natalie’s brows furrowed in disbelief as she scoffed with her arms stretched out, already upset

Steve: I MEAN NATALIE! NATALIE!

Steve laughs and looks around awkwardly before placing a hand over his face. Natalie lets out a disappointed gasp.

Meanwhile..

Jonathan: ACHOO!

the thing about jon right is that he's- okay how do i explain this.

looking at eddie for a second, particularly where he is now in titans, you can see how deeply his deal with neron falling through has impacted his sense of self and how he views his body, relationships, and dynamic to heroism. teen titans era eddie is outwardly nice, but often shares a lot of the same bad emotional habits of his uncle figure, dan. in titans, you get the vibe that because of eddie's outward appearance being twisted the way it has, and the way that has impacted how he's viewed by people, he's pretty much given up on being viewed as 'nice', and is now almost leaning into the 'bad boy' vibe. plus there's whatever's going on with his heart being stolen, whatever #that means brombal. which is interesting because at the heart of this image shift, you can still tell eddie cares deeply about being a 'cool guy'. like, i love eddie, but even i can tell the man is trying way too hard. there's this inclination to care a lot about self-image and building a sense of self he likes, at the expense or benefit of others alike.

jon in many ways has kind the opposite problem. jon, as a result of his abuse by ultraman (but also. stuff in his childhood. you'll see.) he believes he's like, inherently evil inside. but outwardly... he's superman! hes a nice skinny (malnourished) white dude with a big nice smile and perfect blue eyes so everyone trusts him inherently and he has alllll this power he didn't earn. and he's fucking TERRIFIED of it. he's constantly policing both himself and others because he knows how utterly easy it would be to slip into 'evil', and because jon has no actual real moral compass or beliefs (he just copy-pasted what he Thinks his dad believes in), he often ends up putting himself in situations where Any Normal Person would go 'no this is wrong because of the context' and removing Context entirely to just view actions. He's the Perfect justice leaguer, neoliberal and cowardly in the face of big problems, only reactive, only ever reactive. BUT ! this is not jon's natural state. we see in soke that when he's left alone, without his fathers looming image, he's more than willing to take these big 'political' swings that might not go over well.
