Kenan Kong: Once became very incensed that he had to help his friend keep her promise to a bunch of giant crabs

Jay Nakamura: Jay Nakamura is an 18/19 year old journalist-turned-vigilante who blew up an American military base, killed a bunch of soldiers who were part of a project to colonize his people, and is pretty much the only character in recent DC Comics history to go "fuck imperialism, I'm fighting back". He is what every DC fan dreams for their blorbo- a gay left-wing anarchist, and he's got the coolest hair ever. He's funny, smart as heck, started his own underground new broadcast, has guns which he is not afraid to use ON TOP of phasing and invisibility.

Specifically, I think he'd see it as his DUTY to become a politician. I think that, seeing his mother do as much good as she can, meeting other politicians, and getting to know the people- Jay would think he has to. Not because his mother pressures him, no, she would support him no matter what. But because Jay realizes the privilege he has and the situation he's in that not many people get. He has connections that other people don't, he knows things they don't, he's understood processes that other people have to learn since he was young, all because his mom is Sara Nakamura.

He also knows that people in politics who care for and love their nation are extremely few and far between.

This is why he takes it upon himself to get involved. To do his part, and use his privilege thoroughly. To follow in his mother's footsteps and then go even further, because he has a name that the people trust and the smarts plus passion to go with it.
