Spoilers I guess for Y7 if you haven’t already watched/played

I wanna talk about the difference in these fights between the two sets of “shadow clones” (not sure if that’s the official name of this... technique? or just what the fandom’s decided upon?)

Both Majima and Amon use “shadow clones” against the player. They’re labeled differently though, which I think is interesting.

The Amon summoned clones are “thought entities” so I’m thinking like, some kind of servitor?

“Within chaos magic, a servitor is a psychological complex, deliberately created by the magician for a specific purpose, that appears to operate autonomously from the magician's consciousness; i.e., as if it were an independently existing being.“ (via Wikipedia cuz Idk how to explain it myself)

Me going off on a tangent about why it’s probably a servitor and not a tulpa [you can skip it if u dont care about thoughtform witchcraft stuff] There’s also a similar thing called tulpas but I don’t think that’s what we’re dealing with here. Um... so truthfully I’m not entirely sure the difference between a tulpa and a servitor but I think it has to do with a Tulpa being more of an independent entity, whereas a servitor’s more like a robot, conceptually speaking? Someone called “5lender” on reddit described it like this: “Servitors don't have emotions nor the sentience that tulpas do. Servitors are more like robots than people.”  (Yeah, I had to google “tulpa vs servitor whats the difference” lol)

But anyways you can see my logic here, hopefully. Servitors are a kind of “thought entity” in a way. Like clearly those aren’t literally Kiryu, Majima and Saejima; they’re basically NPC “robots” of the characters that seem to be devoid of emotion or their own personality.

Majima’s clones are different; they are labeled just “Majima.”

When I first saw his shadow clones, I was like “hah wtf did he pull a Kiryu and astral project himself in like, four different directions?” (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go watch this Y6 sidestory.)

I didn’t know if Majima was using servitors or his own energy but now that I’ve seen the distinction drawn between shadow clones, it would seem to be more the later. Y’know, I mean potentially. I mean, who really knows wtf this shit was supposed to mean to us when the developers put it in? LOL

This is gonna sound fuckin’ weird, ‘cuz it is. So bear with me ok? So, It seems like Majima’s shadow clone technique is probably, for some reason, he’s keeping a part of his soul, energy, whatever u wanna call it, in his physical form but then splitting up some of it and projecting it outwards. Now, what benefit this has I’m not sure... you’d think it would weaken the host/vessel to split up your energy like that, ykno making the physical body vulnerable? But I guess it would lend you the ability to attack from multiple angles at once, and it’s just creepy too so it could be an intimidation tactic.

Like, I don’t think he’s using servitors because its labeled “Majima” not “thought entity Majima.” It’s labeled like its a part of him.

The best thing about the Yakuza JoJo reference is the fact that they are a clan of scrubs that constantly get bodied.

Jo Amon gets bodied so much that he goes to another universe just to get Omae Wa’d in the Fist of the North Star verse.
