Okay, listen up. 

This is a bit weird, probably, but when I read this, I had a whole fucking plot in my mind so here we fucking go. (By the way, this is largely book-inspired because we aren’t told what happens to Ben in the 27 year gap in the movies, as far as I know. If you want me to redo your ship, hit me up because I can imagine that this isn’t what you want at all)

After the Losers fucked Pennywise up, they kind of stopped hanging out together. They didn’t lose contact or avoid each other, but they just never got together again in that full group. Ben, for one, moved away at one point, and so did the other Losers until only Mike was left in Derry.

Ben, once more, was cursed to being the new kid. Which did come with advantages, yes, a fresh start, far, far away from Bowers. But it came with more disadvantages, mainly it being the fact that he didn’t have the Losers, his friends, with him and it was hard to find new friends in a place where everyone was in a closed-off group. 

Well, everyone but you. Ben had noticed you on his first day in class. He had just managed to get over Bev, knowing that he wouldn’t see her ever again, except if they had to come back to Derry to fight IT again (which he didn’t hope), so he begged his heart to calm the fuck down and not make him go through the same unrequited love shit again. 

You always smiled at Ben when you saw him in the school hallways or around town but you never talked to him, too shy yourself. But Ben always got lost in your gorgeous eyes and kind smile.

You never talked until one day when you found Ben crying near the lockers during class. He had fled pe class after a painful, humiliating lesson in which he was hurt by students and tried to find shelter with a teacher, who humiliated him further. Naturally, you asked him what was wrong when you saw him, heartbroken and torn apart, wounded and just aching, sitting on the dirty floor, bawling his eyes out. He told you some of the things that happened, but he was too anxious to mention the promise of beating the teacher’s whole track team by the end of the school year. 

From that day on, you two grew closer and talked every day. Ben wasn’t on his own anymore and he felt more comfortable around you with every day passing. 

One day, you caught him training. He was randomly running through town on a rainy day as you walked home from your AFL training. You watched on for a bit, until Ben spotted your now wet hair in the slowly growing darkness. After some more crying, he finally explained to you what he was doing and why, and so you decided to help him, scared that he would end up hurting himself. 

Whenever he was attacked in school, you would be there and defend him, stand by his side and support him and even when the big day came, the day the now very well-trained boy would fight the whole team - and won. 

You, of course, stood to the side the whole time, cheering Ben on, even going as far as crafting a sign to hold up for him. Ben couldn’t have been happier and took you out for movies and fast food that night. It was also the night, still full of adrenaline and high on endorphines, that he kissed you for the first time. It was shy, but not less passionate. 

Ben, because of the strange curse resting on the Losers, couldn’t remember much of Derry or his friends, but the few things he did remember, he would always tell you. 

But years later, as you and Ben were adults and you grew to work as an editor, occasionally publishing your own writings, a call from Mike Hanlon put you both through the toughest time in your lives. You, of course, loved Ben’s friends and felt strangely invited into the group, but it was straining, traumatising and plain frightening. You, platonically, grew the closest to Bill out of all his friends, with both of you writing, it came almost natural, and he had many interesting things to tell you about working on a movie set.

so you and richie were like a match made in heaven. both totally idiots in the best of ways and would always be the trouble ones in the friend group. you and rich would run around the city square annoying just about everyone which ultimately ended up in y’all covered in dinosaur bandaids.

one day you decided to teach him how to play ukulele, which excited him a ton because he loves when you play. richie picked it up pretty quick and now uses his new found skill to play songs to eddie about how he’s a momma’s bly and is stuck up.
