Photoshop has had functions for a long time that are versions of AI. We did not object, they’re processing for images or auto application of things. Coolio. The biggest of those is Filters. It lets you take your image and process it so it looks posterized or watercolor or colored pencil. Whatever. They’re notoriously hit or miss. You fuss at them and stack them to get what you want, and then set an automation to batch everything. Useful, but obnoxious.
Photoshop now has their genAi feature that pops up and tells you, enthusiastically, that you can choose the art style of the image, poster, watercolor, colored pencil. Whatever. So hey, maybe this means they finally solved the thing that made filters so spotty.

But hey! Maybe that’s only because they folded that function into the ai function because it’s the trendy word getting all the attention and I’ll finally have a way to filter a simple line art out of an existing image so I can have a baseline!

They have the tech to do this. I know they do. I can the feature of it in what it can do now. But we are not allowed to have it. They won’t combine it into the thing we want, improved filter gallery functions, because the genAi shit is not about improving anything.
