Giverny, the home of Claude Monet
Currently, it is not possible to travel far from home, but, failing that, we hope to be able to take you to this wonderful place that is Giverny, the home of Claude Monet. Claude Monet was a French painter from the 19th century. He is one of the founders of Impressionism. Monet moved to Giverny, Normandy, in 1883, and for over forty years, until his death in 1926, Giverny was his home, his place of creation, and his work. Passionate about gardening, he tirelessly transformed this abandoned domain with a "peasant house", into a floral masterpiece that has inspired many of his greatest masterpieces. Nowadays, it is possible to visit this place where he lived with his family, admire his living room-studio and his exceptional collection of Japanese prints, and stroll through the gardens. These are composed of the Clos Normand, with its flowerbeds, and the Water Garden, planted with oriental vegetation and weeping willows, its Japanese bridge painted green and its waterlilies.
