It is estimated that approximately 10 to 15 percent of the U.S. population suffers from symptoms of IBS, although fewer than half of them seek a doctor or herbalists help. More than twice as many women suffer from the condition as men. IBS is also sometimes called intestinal neurosis, mucous colitis, spastic colitis or spastic colon, but these are outdated terms. Irritable bowel syndrome is one of a range of conditions known as functional gastrointestinal disorders. In IBS this disorder of functioning is with the way nerves and muscles are working. Guees what? Itβs the American diet, itβs based on low mineral content, especially plant based iron, low pH FOODS OR ACIDIC FOODS, dead foods, hybrid foods, chemicals, drugs, sugar, starch etc. In IBS the normally rhythmic muscular contractions of the digestive tract become irregular and uncoordinated. This interferes with the normal movement of food, waste material, which leads to the accumulation of mucus and toxins in the intestines. This accumulated material sets up a partial obstruction of the digestive tract, trapping gas and stools, which in turn causes bloating, distention, and constipation. IBS may affect the entire gastrointestinal tract from the mouth through the colon. πEat a high fiber diet including plenty of vegetables, quinoa, spelt pastas, chickpeas πAvoid animal fats, butter, all carbonated drinks, coffee and all substances containing caffeine , candy , chocolate, all dairy products, fried foods, ice cream, all junk foods, margarine, nuts, artificial juices , pastries, all processed foods , seeds and spicy foods, SUGAR, sugar free chewing gum. πThese foods encourage the secretion of mucus by the membranes and prevent the uptake of nutrients, clogs and obstructs. πIt takes between 12 and 15 hours or less for food to be completely processed πFoods such as meat can take longer.
