Here is an #ElectricSwapOut for Lobster, “Lobster Mushroom.” Technically this is not a mushroom, but it’s a fungus that grows on specific mushrooms. These “mushrooms” are a good source of protein, potassium, zinc, vitamins B copper, and selenium. You can use this meaty textured mushroom it the place of sea lobster. The rains brings all that I love I was worried, I won’t lie. We had a drought here in and around Rochester for weeks but since I have returned from helping organize and throwing the @newmoonmycologysummit its been raining steady and my long awaited friends are returning to reveal themselves. So grateful for everyone who came out to help and attend the Summit. It was amazing and I can’t thank everyone enough. What a hoot! I return to the Great Lakes BioRegion to find the most perfect Lobster mushrooms I have ever found. Almost as if they have been waiting for us to arrive in the perfect condition. So firm and fresh. Thanks mycelium! What’s cool about the mushrooms pictured is that it’s two fungi in one. The Lobster mushroom was originally either a Russula or Lactarius, in this case probably a Russula. That Russula stops it’s development because it begins to become parasitized by another Fungus. Thankfully it’s edible! This fungus is in the phylum #ascomycota and takes over this mushroom and it goes from being that Russula mentioned, to becoming #hypomyceslactifluorum So grateful and so excited to get back to Smugtown and keep moving forward with our build.
