Got my Hot Ones hot sauce box from @heatonist today, so it was a ten piece nuggets and taste test time! This month's selection is amazing! No Name Chipotle is delicious with a subtle heat, what won't I put it on is the question! Lucky Dog Black Label Reserve... Wow, a great bite and amazing flavor. Then, there's The Constrictor. First nugget, "Hmm, is this hot?" Second nugget, added a bit more than the first nugget and BAM! In the face with its heat! The flavor of the sauce fools you as a top note of deliciousness to ambush you with the burn! Tasty! But will be used sparingly. Then a hot fudge sundae to cool down a bit! Unripe okra fruits can be dried for later use. The leaves and young shoots are edible and cooked as a vegetable similar to spinach or eaten raw in salads. Okra is a vegetable@low in calories but a good source of Vitamin C, provitamin A, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. The high content of mucilaginous sap makes the fruit ideal for people with stomach ailments. The seeds contain a greenish-yellow oil high in unsaturated fats. The high quality oil, called ambretta, is used in the food and perfume industry and as a therapeutic oil. I’ve read that in times when coffee wasn’t readily available, the seeds were roasted, ground, and used as a coffee substitute.
