Hello! I just discovered your gorgeous process videos for inking, and as a fellow micron pen inker, I was curious: What type of paper do you use? It looks like it doesn't smear the pencil or bleed the ink, and I'm never quite sure if a sketchbook I get will have that nice combination. (Also, your sketches look very clean, do you do much erasing or do you sketch the concept elsewhere first so you have a better idea of what lines to sketch?) Beautiful job, I'd love to do process videos like this but have never quite figured out how to position/hold my phone in a way that won't impede the inking process. Keep up the great work!
Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind compliments! I use Strathmore Drawing paper that's 70 lb. I don't draw a lot of thumbnails, although I really should. I kind of just jump into drawing after I collect my reference material. As for the lack of smudges. That's probably due to my drawing with a tissue under my hand. It keeps me from touching the fresh ink directly. As for recording. I try to keep the camera tilted, because otherwise my hand gets in every shot! For example since I'm right handed I always have my camera on the left and then tilted around 45 degrees. I hope that this helps and that you're having a lovely day~
