CROCHET VIDS!!!! (videos that helped me start out on my crochet journey :))
this^ one just shows how to make a simple ribbed hat
it's helpful with practicing tension and overall just practice with a half-double crochet(hdc) stitch and stitch counting/making sure each row has the same amount of stitches
This^ one i personally think is just AMAZING!
this pattern not only uses all the four most common crochet stitches(single crochet-sc, half-double crochet--hdc, double crochet--dc, and a slip stitch--slst)(so it gives practice with all those stitches)
but also, the lady who made the video is very informative and walks you through all the steps.
this video is also how I learned how to do the, infamously difficult, magic circle(mc). she explains and shows how to do an mc in a very simple, easy to follow along, way that not a lot of other ppl show how to do.
she teaches how to do an mc VERY differently from other ppl but it still gets the job done, its just a LOT simpler to understand imo
its also a good pattern/video for learning how to do an increase(inc) w/ an mc pattern
(also, as I stated before, this pattern is just good practice for the four main stitches of crochet)
overall its just a very nice video/pattern that I HIGHLY recommend for beginners, AND its just a really cute and simple coaster to make :)
you don't have to, but the first simple amigurumi stuffed animal I made was an octopus, its a good start/practice with amigurumi and learning how they work/how the patterns work.
you also just get a cute, silly lil guy at the end
@bookworm-fangirl1 i cant off the top of my head remember if you have adhd or not :/ (my bad, sorry about that) but if i remember correctly, and you do, I highly recommend trying to do a small amigurumi project before trying to do a big granny square project. i really just recommend it because with an amigurumi project I feel its a lot easier to stay motivated, because each row is kinda like a new level of a game or something rather than with granny squares where you make one, and then the second one is the same thing, and then the third one you get a hang of it, and then it tells you to make like 100 more of those.
idk, I don't know how your brain works, how about :
if you like repetition - Granny Square blanket
if you wanna do something new every handful of stitches - Amigurumi
this^ is a good pattern/tutorial for learning how to crochet in the back bar and crochet in the front loops and the back loops
i cant find the original video on how i learned to make granny squares but this seems like a pretty easy to follow along video
i hope this helps some what :/
i tried to find most of the videos that i started out with and i found most of them
but i can also make another post w/ more videos and tutorials that I've found helpful/fun

More tutorials from researching an upcoming pattern re-release - and this one just blew my mind when I first learned it!
I was introduced to the concept of the foundation crochet (rather than a chain to start your crochet), with the Garden Trellis Fingerless Mittens; and I've used it extensively since then - it's so much easier then instructions like 'chain 200' to start a crochet project! Now I use foundation crochet extensively in my own crochet designs, and it's thanks to the wonderful folks on Youtube that I learned how to do it!
