Honen, beware the fish bone! ok.
Who Dwells In This House?
I’ve been mulling over a certain quotation of Honen (法然, 1133–1212), the 12th century Buddhist monk credited with spreading the Pure Land tradition in Japan, and thus founder of movements such as Jodo-Shu and Jodo-Shinshu: “All of our deeds in the realms of saṃsāra result from ties with the three worldly passions of greed, anger, and ignorance. Understand that when the worldly passions of greed,…

Name: Honen
Debut: Super Mario Land
Do not panic! I repeat! Do NOT panic! This is not the well known and somewhat common enemy “Fish Bone,” though that enemy may warrant a post of its own, this is Honen, an enemy that first appeared, and currently has ONLY appeared in Super Mario Land! Honen actually appeared before Fish Bone, so if anything, Fish Bone is cramping Honen’s style, not the other way around! But only one of them could continue to be a big-shot main-series Mario enemy, and to put it simple, most of Super Mario Land’s enemies have never been particularly well known...
But that does not stop us from covering them! I, for one, think it’s DELIGHTFUL that we have two skeletal fish enemies, and Honen is fortunate because we actually get backstory on it!
"This skeleton of a Torion after it has been eaten by Tatanga always flies up vertically from the water. It can't be defeated by a Superball."
This is Torion for reference! Torion is a fish! Yep! That’s it! That sure is a fish!
For those of you who don’t remember, Tatanga is a funny alien goblin man, and the main boss of Super Mario Land! Apparently he routinely EATS Torions, but leaves their skeleton, and apparently eyes, behind. But Honen doesn’t seem to mind having nothing aside from eyes and a skeleton. Honen is able to do the impossible, and make great leaps in life, by leaping out of the water at Mario. But don’t take it from us! Take it from Honen!
“When everything except my eyes and skeleton were eaten by Tatanga, I figured it was all over, and that I would never make my mom, Mrs. Honen, proud. But sometimes, all it takes is a leap of faith, and soon I was able to discover that even in spite of my injuries, I could jump higher and bite more Italian plumbers than any of my Torion colleagues. If I have any message for you, it’s to follow your dreams, and keep fighting for what you want. I, too, have been hopeless before, but now look at me! I’m a gold star medalist in the Weird Mario Olympic Games. Take care, and have a good night.”

Now here our pokemon name origin from hoenn. My favorite pokemon is mudkip and jirachi
Neighbouring the Birabuto Kingdom is a string of sun-kissed islands known collectively as Muda.
The phenomenon of undeath is well-known to residents of the Mushroom Kingdom, and it can be witnessed in Sarasaland as well. The Honen is actually the skeleton of a large fish called the Torion, that still possesses the strength to throw itself out of the water at the living that walk past.
Apparently they became this way after being eaten by Tatanga! This guy sounds scarier by the minute!
