Piltover's responsible for many big awful things but they also just breeze past simple things that are considered basic laws in modern government like water through chain links. Take Heimerdinger for example, he's depicted as a wise and good natured mentor figure for multiple cast members and the first thing we see him do is coach his student on the right answers for a criminal trial he's going to sit on as one of the judges. Cassandra, the woman who commissioned a ventilation system for Zaun, also chooses to sit on the trial as a judge explicitly to help Jayce as his patron. (Jayce was keeping explosive in his apartment btw). The concept of recusal does not exist to these people. "Conflict of interest" isn't a real phrase.

Once Jayce's a councilor, he gets a whole sequence about engaging in textbook corruption but that's not even the most important part to me. For me, I was thinking about how Jayce accruing more political capital by selling more shares in hextech could have easily screwed over Viktor. And of course there's Caitlyn, who's family once sponsored Jayce (might still bc of those banners in his room), and immediately uses his name for her own purposes (freeing Vi) once he becomes a councilor. The Kiramman's apparently also fund the Enforcers enough she can make calls about who can get hired.

I actually have so much packed in my head for this agghhhhhhhhhhhhh and it may or may not have come up because I imagined Heimerdinger waddling around with a little lightsaber

I might make a whole post about casting choices and all, but first, I need your help. If Heimerdinger was like a Jedi council guy . . .
