And it's mischievous and conspiring and he should blush and confess and that would all be a fun night to remember, a fun night of queer solidarity between the Lesbian and the Freak, but all Eddie can feel is pure, boiling rage, corroding his insides and shredding him to pieces. How could she know something he didn't even realized? How dumb, how blind could he have been to not fucking see that at the bottom of his hatred for Harrington, there was a pit of slithering, treacherous snakes of love biting their fangs into his heart?

The first time Eddie saw the BMW in the station's parking lot, he wondered what would be different if he had one of those instead of his beat up '77 Chevy. Maybe he would have something to offer – enough to ask Jon to get the fuck away from here with him. If Eddie had that kind of car, he would definitely throw the Byers siblings inside, he would say Fuck it, we ball with the grounded confidence that they could make something out of their lives.    Then, Jon's lyrics would have been about Eddie, maybe. What a romantic story that could have been.
