So....today the plaster board finally goes up in the soon to be kitchen. It's been a long old haul but after today we just need the boards taped then we can get painting and more importantly order our cabinets. This may seem common and uninteresting in terms of world news but a year without a proper kitchen means I am jumping up and down, doing a jig and punching the air in a virtual frenzy of happiness whilst typing. My excitement knows no bounds. Now I'll leave you to get back to your toast. Photographic evidence to follow....ah moments in our little world history 😌

Winged beans, anyone? Our Municipal Mayor is keen on developing programs that will help young children gain a competitive advantage in life and of these programs is proper early childhood nutrition. Winged beans are one of the vegetables he's encouraging moms to grow in the backyard mainly because of its high nutritional value. This #happyhomemaker is fortunate to be able to grow these vegetables for her family and for the Mayor. He likes his blanched and dressed with French dressing (the @maidinblueheaven makes the best salad dressings in town) while ours is sauteed in #bukidnonbutter and garlic. What goes well with hot cocoa? Home made baguettes by our 14-year-old son. He's successfully enrolled himself online and is waiting for further instructions from his school. Meanwhile, he's trying to perfect this sourdough baguettes which he's been obsessing about in the past few weeks. . . This #happyhomemaker from the #countryside is on a quest to reduce her family's food miles and live as much as possible in an eco-friendly way. Store-bought bread comes in single-use plastic packaging. If we can make bread at home, that's gonna be one more plastic-free product in our daily life, in addition to naked shampoo and conditioner bars 😊🥰 Plus, we're doing our very best to buy from neighbors first in order to help small, local businesses and one another recover from the adverse effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, this hot chocolate drink isn't made of imported "real cocoa powder" but of pure cocoa tablets from our neighbors' cacao trees. I added a few tablespoons of fresh cow's milk from @bukidnonmilkco to make it taste even richer! Thank you, @liapacita for the cocoa tablets 😘 . . If we can find something as good -- or even better -- nearby, there's absolutely no need to go to the malls.
