When cleaning means eviction!
I've reached a good stopping point in my work this morning, so I'm going to do the dishes and do a little more cleaning up so that when the electrician comes this afternoon, he doesn't think that my partner and I are slobs.
Dont know who needs to hear this, but you dont owe people any more good faith than you have reason to expect from them. If someone asks you what you mean by a well-known word (woman, intelligence, normal...) they are trying to impede your point; the correct response is not to try to define in the moment but to snort and suggest a dictionary. (Proof: if you do successfully define they respond with a huff, not with thanks.)
Likewise you will never get your roommate to do the dishes by specifying when, which dishes, and exactly how. He will always find a loophole to justify not doing them. The correct response to "oh you wanted them done today?!" is not to start trying to be clearer in your speech but to get better friends.
Thinking of this in the wake of Mothers Day Reddit posts where women try to convince themselves they just need to better phrase their requests to magically turn their frog into a decent man.

did effectively nothing today
i did the dishes
i did some laundry
i ran out to get some Kool aid and Skittles cuz I wanted some
and I had the genuine most MID sushi i've ever fucking tasted. like Jesus Christ I did not know food could taste so.....basic.
at least the extra fried rice I ordered was somewhat good, if not a bit peppery.

She has HAD IT with the bright lights and the commotion and me not being in bed. She started out on the other end of the couch then curled up on my hoodie. So I purrito’d her, loosely. She seems to be enjoying that.
