New video! It's 47 minutes and I make some fancy aprons.
My main inspiration was this lovely illustration from a 1916 book.
Plus that style of 18th-19th c. workman's apron that buttons onto the waistcoat.

(From Costume Design and Home Planning, 1916.) I sent this picture to several friends and they all had different favourite aprons, so I'm curious! Mine's 3.
Edit: All 6 of them have pockets! In varying sizes and shapes, but all are very pockety!

The last apron I made in my apron video is this black & burgundy one with a mottled yellow lining. I made it just because I wanted to show making one without a bib, since I figure not everyone will be able to use the kind that buttons over waistcoats. This one is a lot closer to the 1916 inspiration sketch but the proportions are still a bit different.
All the fabrics were cotton from my stash, just like the other two aprons. I used the same gold ink for the leaves as I did on the brown one, and tried to get the berries to match the burgundy fabric, but they ended up a bit more pink because the burgundy ink was too translucent to show up on the black fabric.
I gave this one to my mother and I thought she already knew it had pockets, but I must have forgotten to mention it because she was very surprised by them!
