It be cool to see Ginyu being introduced in his original body (though that is very debatable since we don't know for sure if purple horned body is his) can I ask why you decided to portray him since beginning as his namek arc?
Sure! It is mainly a pacing issue. In my earliest drafts, I introduced him in a different body and withheld the name reveal for several chapters, up until he got his purple body. I could have reworked that setup to still include the bones, as it was part of a subplot I ended up abandoning, but decided against it. I didn’t want to risk confusing readers, slow down the story to ensure that this didn’t happen, and least of all — run into a situation where the purple body (acquisition or original) received a canon retcon after the fact. Before I shifted the tone of the comic to be what it is now, I also had a recurring gag of Ginyu regularly showing up with a different body and having to reintroduce him each time. I think this might work a little better in an animated medium but I also didn’t want to remove the significance of when he actually uses his body swap. All that said, I have some fun scenes planned for Ginyu’s particular talent; I’m really looking forward to sharing those. I hope readers will enjoy them as they were among my favorites to write. :D
