I don’t to weight in too deeply on the whole thing with @fuckyeahasexual‘s not-well-considered allo aro takes right now, but I do want to confront the idea that posts aren’t showing up in the notes because FYA is somehow deleting or suppressing them - I don’t think that’s the case; I absolutely believe that this is just yet another example of why tumblr is a hellishly broken platform, because I’ve seen it happen in responses to my own posts (that I wanted to see!) even though I don’t even use the blocking feature.
For reference, I started moving away from tumblr over a year ago in part because the notes and notifications systems were entirely broken (among so many other issues), and have been broken for ages, even before the latest update a couple months ago that even further broke the way notes and tags and other data is managed on tumblr. Having reblogs randomly not show up in the notes is not a new thing and is not unique to this post by FYA.
For years already, reblogs have been frequently disappearing from notes - it’s known that having external links, or having multiple replies to the same post, are common risk factors in disappearing reblogs - but sometimes it just appears to be random.
While there are plenty of reasons to legitimately take issue with their initial post or responses, (many of which I agree with, some of which I don’t), I don’t think suppressing reblogs is something they are guilty of.
(Although, to the various mods at @fuckyeahasexual, I definitely recommend taking some time to sincerely read through and perhaps even reblog some of the critiques. A lot of the problems with the initial post would have been avoidable with even some basic knowledge about current aro community discussions, and learning now is better late than never - and many of your followers who only saw the first version may also appreciate the corrections! If you are having trouble finding the reblogs in your notifications the same way they are hard to find in the notes, I’m sure many people here would be happy to help share the links they’ve gathered)
