#ace week

Even if not in the way of a lover, you bleed in seas of red flowers.

You wound me, dearest heart, because you do not love how small hearts ponder,

For there is as much love for you to give as sand on the beach,

and to say I wear you on my sleeve would not be the wisest thing

You're far too big for this world, far too angry, far too kind

You are every teary cry that escapes my mouth,

every dry scream that aches my throat,

every yearning smile that craddles my teeth,

and every single time I notice my love is not the same as the one others feel

You are a nightmare, my cruelest guide, and I simply cannot hate you for that.

I cannot blame you either, in case you believe to be at fault,

for you were never told to beat as fast as a storm, to deprive of reason in the name of love,

to become sick of all the love you give, to relinquish a swirl of sentiments you never feel.

And yet, you are still too much for me.

I can only hope my chest is big enough for you to fit in,

to not suffocate my poor cracked ribs.

But alas, here I stand still, watching the sea unfold,

and for once your pounding pain might just be left untold.
