Anyone thinks that Happy’s too overpowered to be able to stop Igneel-empowered-Natsu from trying to kill Zeref ? Have anyone done some analysis on this?
Okay I’m not serious about Happy’s power level or the analysis lol So don’t be overreacting. I applaud Happy for what he did. I’m just reminded of the above in Ch. 465 bc of all the comments on why Erza should not be able to stop crazy friends from fighting in Ch. 506.
I know Erza’s fights don’t always make senses. In fact many fights by other characters aren’t making senses either. I will always be salty over the “Because she’s Erza” thing and blame Mashima for being utterly irresponsible for not giving her a better reason to win.
I agree that it’s arguable that Erza shouldn’t be able to take her crazy friends attacks. But my beloved redhead stopping her crazy friends from fighting isn’t something that outrageous in my view. It’s not like she’s punching them to stop them like how she did in the past? All she did was jumping in between them to take their fists. And it’s not like she didn’t get hurt from doing this? She’s even shaking. She stops one attack here only. She’s not winning a fight over them or not putting them in place with her power. She’s not shown overpowering those two. Calling her overpower is a bit too much in this case in my view.
Some other thoughts on the chapter.
Ignoring the reasons behind Natsu & Gray’s fight, their fighting scenes are really nicely drawn and intense to read.
Erza bowing to Makarov is a touching one, showing how grateful she is for all he has given her and how much respect she has for him.
I know Laxus is strong and cool and all and not drowning in sadness after Makarov died, but if Mashima could show a little bit more of his emotions towards his grandpa’s death, it would have been ever nicer.
The last page of Erza crying is heartbreaking to see. But I like the shocked expression on Natsu and Gray’s face when they see her tears. Something never changes for them. When Erza sheds tears, they immediately sense that something’s going wrong because Erza’s not one to show weakness in their eyes. I especially like Natsu’s reaction. He looks like being snapped out from his demon self all of a sudden because he’s too shocked to see Erza crying in pain. Erza’s tears are so overpowered lol
