Sting and Rogue hear who they’re fighting and have a moment of cockiness. Not only are they stronger than Natsu as second generation dragon slayers but they’re also fighting a no name ice mage that Rufus has already beat. This battle is as good as won.

Rogue is a little disappointed that he won’t be able to fight Gajeel but he’s determined to see Sting’s dream of surpassing Natsu through, even if that means he has to settle for fighting a mediocre mage like Gray.

They walk onto the field, ready to say their piece except Natsu and Gray aren’t paying them any attention. In fact they walked out arguing about who was going to beat who. The argument gets so bad Erza has to yell at them from the stands to get them to stop and acknowledge Sting and Rogue before the match starts.

So Gray and Natsu turn to Rogue and Sting, listening as they start spouting bs about Fairy Tail being washed up and what not and then the match starts. But instead of immediately rushing in Gray and Natsu start making bets about who can beat both Rogue and Sting at the same time.

Obviously Sting and Rogue use that time to attack but Gray and Natsu are still arguing with each other as they’re dodging. AND THEN THEY STOP FIGHTING STING AND ROGUE AND START FIGHTING EACH OTHER. They are completely ignoring Sting and Rogue’s attempts to fight them at this point.

Eventually Rogue and Sting get so fed up that they try cutting in with their combo move and Natsu and Gray get so pissed at the interruption that they turn around and punt the fuck outta them, accidentally ending the match but they don’t even notice. They just go back to arguing with each other.

Now the match is over to everyone’s surprise but Natsu and Gray are NOT paying attention to the announcer saying they need to get off the field and are instead rolling around throwing punches so Erza has to go down to the arena.

Erza gets down to the arena and the same thing happens, they accidentally punch her. BUT SHE JUST TANKS THE HIT AND KNOCKS THEM OUT! And the whole crowd goes wild.

So whenever people get invasive about their sex life and insinuate that Natsu is the “bottom” just because he’s shorter than Gray, Natsu just looks at them like ????

Not because he subscribes to their rigid beliefs on who should play what role in bed but because Gray is so clearly taller than him he thinks everyone else assumes Gray is more suitable to carry kids. (Not that they are trying/could even do that.)

But also he’s pissed because why is everyone so interested in that part of their relationship. It’s not like he’s going around telling everyone else’s business. Even though he can smell exactly who has been with who and those of you who like to get down in the guild hall, he has definitely heard your escapades.
