One of the most bonkers crazy bits of Restaurant at the End of the Universe is that rather than making Arthur and Trillian end up on prehistoric Earth together in the most perfect, most thematic (the last man and woman of the species that literally came up with the concept), Adam and Eve metaphor, Douglas Adams instead put Arthur and Ford in that situation. My man, how am I meant to read that in any way besides the obvious one
