Tobias can seem pushy at times, but he does like being around Jim. He sees a bit of his old self in the recluse- a very sheltered man afraid of everything. That's part of Tobias' obsession with exploration and the paranormal, he wanted to conquer his fears of the unknown. He wants Jim to conquer his own fears too.

John, Johann, and Jean. Johann and Jean are siblings, so they're cousins to John. They live farther out of the city, but will visit John out of love. They know John's fought hard through body and mind to be the person he is, so they'll check up on him to make sure he's fine.

To clarify this AU is "modern and normal" no supernatural bullshit happens. So Sebastian is normal, human, and Emmerson's parole officer because I thought it would be REALLY funny. Obviously, his job is to check on Emm, rehabilitate him back into society, make sure he's not getting into trouble. He honestly doesn't gaf abt Emm but he has a quota to fill so whatever.

"*Hic* Y-yes... I'm okay."

"Are you lost? Do you need me to call someone?"

"N-no..."

"Here, uh- you dropped these."

"D-don't, there's no point... he's never coming back."

"Hey, don't give up, yeah? I'm sure he's looking for you too."

"But- but it's all my fault! I-if I hadn't gotten in the way, if I didn't get so close, he would've- he would've-!"

"Hey, it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself for someone else's actions. Whatever... he did to you, you're not responsible for. If anything, it's a problem he has to handle himself."

"You don't understand, he can't handle himself. He's sick and he can't be left alone. M-my dad says we can't do anything about it, but it's not safe for him!"

"Yeah... that does sound scary. You care a lot about this guy, huh?"

"Of course, h-he's my uncle..."

"Oh, I see. I'm sure he loves you just as much."

"Then why hasn't he called me back?"

"Maybe... he needs space."

"Does that mean I did something wrong?"

"No, of course not! Sometimes, when we know we've hurt someone we love, the best thing to do is to give them distance. Not only to figure themselves out, but to give that someone time to heal. I'm sure when he's ready, he'll come back."

"B-but what if he doesn't? What if he's just gone forever?"

"Well, I can't really know that. Though, I'm sure he's thinking a lot about you too. I bet he's a real tough guy, I'm sure he can take care of himself. But he'd want you to take care of yourself too. He needs to help himself and so should you."

"I... I guess you're right. I just wish he'd call or leave a message..."

"When he's ready, he'll let you know."

"O-okay... thank you, Mister. My dad said I shouldn't talk to strangers, b-but you're very nice."

"Yeah, no, listen to your dad. Don't be crying on random streets, kid. That's how you get kidnapped."
