Today is day 3 of #yogabeasts, and it's an important theme: water pollution. Since I live in a city sorrounds by water, I've always seen these huge factories all around my city, but I didn't know it was them who caused all the pollution: you can't bathe in the lakes of Mantova, you can't drink water or eat any fish coming from there. Why? Mercury, primarily, and other substances. . #Pollution is the result of the cumulative effect over time. All plants and organisms living in or being exposed to polluted water bodies can be impacted. The causes of water pollution include a wide range of chemicals and pathogens as well as physical parameters. Contaminants may include organic and inorganic substances. Elevated temperatures can also lead to polluted water. A common cause of thermal pollution is the use of water as a coolant by power plants and industrial manufacturers, such as said above. Elevated water temperatures decrease oxygen levels, which can kill fish and alter food chain composition, reduce species biodiversity, and foster invasion by new thermophilic species. . It's an issue, and since much of the overall contaminants in the sea come from rivers, we'd better reduce our waste, and ask for a clearer picture of what factories throw in our rivers. .
