I SENT MY PROJECT!!! I projected this problem for weeks. It wasn’t so much about strength as it was about focus and technique and breathing and form. The next day I sent my first V4. Yeah, climbing is going pretty well for me lately.

The guy filming, and singing a pump up beat for me at the beginning lol, is Mike. Mike is a guy I have started to run into kinda consistently while climbing. He started out trad climbing back in the 80’s with his dad and used to scoff at gym climbing, but when he landed back in Chicago he didn’t have another option and now admits to how fun it can be. He’s always helping me with problems and complimenting my technique. Anyway, Mike every time I see him tells me to sell all my stuff, buy a truck or a van, and move to a mountain town. Last time I saw him he told me, “and I mean this in the best way possible, but I really hope that I eventually stop seeing you around here.” And that has given me a lot of energy and hope to just take my life where I want to be.

I know this Muir quote is heavily exhausted at this point, but I feel it so wholly every single day of my life that, “The mountains are calling and I must go.” And here’s the thing, I don’t quite have to go *now* or *yet* but I know with every single fiber of my mind, body, and spirit, that I really do have to go. And I will.
