the same people upset and making angry threads and posts about qimir/osha being ātoxic and abusiveā and how theyāre quitting the acolyte after this episode also happen to be wolfwren shippers. So Iām not really taking yall serious
I also donāt understand bringing up Reylo when Qimir and Osha definitely have a different dynamic too, even if itās possibly enemies to lovers. Itās definitely not the same and also 10000% more intriguing and just better overall so.

Accidentally stumbled into a Sansa anti (well they call themselves an Arya stan but they apparently think those things go hand in hand)blog and am now baffled and a little disgusted at the amount of vitriol these people have for..a little girl, honestly they had reblogged a post about how Arya being believed to be a hostage to Ramsay galvanised so many people in the North, etc and the difference between that and Sansa being the Lannisters hostage/Tyrions bride, and like..so this little girls life being worthless to these men (whether that's true or not) is somehow validation for you? Honestly it's a little disturbing (there's also a pattern of most of them hating Alicent as well which seems..meaningful)
Ah, yes, the fantasy that they have that the North uniquely loves Arya and somehow instinctively rejects Sansa, and that this would be a good thing rather than screaming misogyny. š
There's exactly one group in the North agitating for Ned Stark's daughter herself (the one within reach of them, mind) and that's the mountain clans, for two reason:
Distant family loyalty, alongside Stark loyalty. (A Liddle also aids Bran in the mountains.)
A culture that encourages them to seek death, not survival, at this particular time where Stannis comes knocking.
His father's mother's mother had been aĀ FlintĀ ofĀ theĀ mountains. Old Nan once said that it was her blood in him that made Bran such a fool for climbing before his fall.Ā
(ASOS, Bran ll)
It was a tale that any northmen knew well. "My father's grandmother was aĀ FlintĀ ofĀ theĀ mountains, on his mother's side," Jon told her. "TheĀ First Flints, they call themselves. They sayĀ theĀ other Flints areĀ theĀ bloodĀ ofĀ younger sons, who had to leaveĀ theĀ mountainsĀ to find food and land and wives. It has always been a harsh life up there. WhenĀ theĀ snows fall and food grows scarce, their young must travel toĀ theĀ winter town or take service at one castle orĀ theĀ other.Ā TheĀ old men gather up what strength remains in them and announce that they are going hunting. Some are found come spring. More are never seen again."
(ADWD, Jon X)
"Winter is almost upon us, boy. And winter is death. I would sooner my men die fighting for theĀ Ned'sĀ littleĀ girlĀ than alone and hungry in the snow, weeping tears that freeze upon their cheeks. No one sings songs of men who die like that. As for me, I am old. This will be my last winter. Let me bathe in Bolton blood before I die. I want to feel it spatter across my face when my axe bites deep into a Bolton skull. I want to lick it off my lips and die with the taste of it on my tongue."
(ADWD, The King's Prize)
Let's not overtly romanticize the North. Manderly's money is on Rickon the son. There's a sizable faction actually supporting the Boltons (Dustin/Ryswell and Karstark). No one lifts a single finger for "Arya" until Jon gives Stannis the advice to gather support in the mountains with his army, and those are the ones with comparatively little to do but die and "bathe in Bolton blood".
The main aspect here is opportunity v. cost.
But more to the point, just as you point out, if it was Sansa that Jeyne was pretending to be, it would be the same. It's not the girls (within their actual reach) they specifically care for, it's Ned and House Stark.
The specific (small) subset of Sansa Anti/Arya stan that pushes these takes is, indeed, less interested in Arya, the actual books and the political dynamics therein, than they are in a distorted Cinderella fantasy where Arya is uniquely chosen and loved over Sansa. The rejection of Sansa is as central to that fantasy as the elevation of Arya, because the Mean Girl needs to be vanquished and punished in order to destroy the very notion in the world that Their Projection Surface was ever not The Prettiest And Bestest, deprived of the admiration she rightfully deserved by the cruel machinations of a middleschool bully.
You know, that's the complex philosophical, political and literary themes and interpersonal dynamics that GRRM is known for. š¤·š»āāļø
There's a problem with how many who express frustration with the RWDE or overblown RWBY hate in general are countered with "it's just their opinion, bro" from a textbook centrist.
Yeah, from the outside looking in, it does seem like we can't look the other way when some people just aren't jiving with our thing. Thing is that when we do look the other way, there's more just making RWBY their own personal punching bag.
Furthermore, just as anyone has the right to make their dislike for RWBY everyone else's problem, others have the right to say, "Hey, this feels really fucked up and here's why."
Yet we're the ones who gotta suck it up like a sponge whether we back up our arguments or not. Because apparently when we don't, we're fanatics who can't take criticism of our favorite show.
Like... sure. Way back when the RWDE was created because there were fans who liked RWBY but would overreact to negativity towards their faves. The tag naturally sprouted from there.
Except that things aren't like that now. Rarely anybody in the FNDM stirs crap up that hasn't been started by the RWDE or somebody overreacting to RWBY. And even when the FNDM does get out of line, the RWDE seems to overlook their own transgressions and hypocrisies.
What people still don't want to accept is that Arya and Sansa are not equal. Arya is a main protagonist with a rich character arc and loads of chapters. Sansa was created as her foil and to cause problems for the Starks (who were too happy without her), which helped further complicate Arya's character. Once that was done, Sansa became a camera. She isn't a character in her own right but a useful tool.
When people say there shouldn't be a war between fans over these two, they're right. There shouldn't be fighting. But there is fighting because fans of the glorified camera want to create the illusion that she's of equal or greater significance to Arya while fabricating a story and characterization for her that GRRM never wrote. They fight with Daenerys fans for the same reason. How can the camera not be important when she's constantly pit against undisputed heavy hitters and icons like Arya and Daenerys? Most wouldn't even mention her if her fans didn't create drama over her and the main heroines of the series.
Ah, 'key five truther alert'
Boy, I have news for you. GRRM has debunked this himself.
And again you are in my ask box starting drama or rather you're throwing a tantrum.
I censure my tags, I write metas on my own blog and not in other people's ask box, I don't spout anon hate, nor do I do any post jumping.
How am I the one to start 'drama'.
You really should just get over the fact that Sansa fans exist and that they are not going to vanish on your say so.
You might get a better grasp on reality if you accept that there are things you have zero influence on.

I just don't know what that anon was expecting. I'm here to have nerdy fun about a book series I love; not get so emotionally invested that I start acting like fictional characters are real people.
If people love Daenerys and she has personal meaning to them, then cool ...but they should curate their fandom experience if it upsets them to see people discuss her place in the text.
Authors like GRRM aren't writing their characters for the purpose of wish fulfillment. They are tools, created so the author can explore the themes that interest them. That the author makes them resonate with us emotionally is a testament to an author's skill and one of the hooks that keeps us reading to find out what the author might be trying to say about those pesky themes I keep mentioning.
I'm all about critiquing how effective the author is in this endeavor, but I have no interest in reading blind refusals to engage with the writing on the wall when it comes to Daenerys. The writing has been there since book one.
It isn't subtle.
It isn't unknowable.
It's pretty fucking obvious.
If people want to ignore those themes and her very clear arc and enjoy the books at the most surface level, ignoring or bypassing things that make them uncomfortable or don't vibe with how they've decided to view certain characters, that is their choice, but maybe they should stay out of my inbox.
That screenshot doesn't even belong to me. It has been going around because more people have been amazed by your audacity of stealing a Sansa's quote.
Also what does it say about you that you are lurking on someone's blog and reblogging posts that have no tags whatsoever. I don't do something so pathetic as sending myself asks. Leave me be and spend time on your fave.
what the hell is going on with the j0nsa and J0nerys stans now? unpopular opinion but they both suck all the fun out of fandom and no one can post anything without one side or the other piling on with their bs.
Yeah...Iām not going to go there, anon. Nice try.
