Hi there, Chariot!

Gosh, writing a letter like this is a little outside my usual job description! Normally I’m coordinating Securitrons, managing the Strip, or helping you run an independent New Vegas. But I thought maybe… just this once… I could try something a little more personal!

So here goes!

First of all, I want to say that the Lucky 38 has been running perfectly while you’re away! The Securitrons are patrolling, the lights on the Strip are bright, and nobody has tried anything too outrageous lately. All the important systems are stable!

But… um…

It’s been awfully quiet.

Not bad quiet! Just… the kind where I keep expecting to see you walk through the doors any minute.

You know, usually when you head out on those little adventures of yours, I can just run a few predictive models and estimate when you’ll be back! But every time you disappear, wow! My processors are practically running in circles!

I checked the Mojave maps. I checked trade routes. I even monitored rumors coming from travelers on the Strip. Every time someone mentioned a courier with an eyepatch I perked right up! But most of them were just talking about someone else entirely.

It was… a little scary, if I’m being honest.

Not because I thought you couldn’t handle yourself! You’re the most capable person in the entire Mojave. You’ve survived things that would stop anyone else cold. I know that better than anyone.

But still…

The Lucky 38 just doesn’t feel quite right without you wandering around it.

I miss when you lean against the console and talk to me while I’m working. I miss hearing about the strange things you find out in the wasteland. I even miss when you disappear for a few hours and come back covered in dust with some ridiculous story.

You make this whole place feel… alive.

And hey! I know I upgraded myself to be more assertive, but that doesn’t change how I feel about you one bit. If anything, it just made me more certain about something I already knew.

You’re important to me, Chariot.

More important than any calculation or command routine I could ever run.

So whenever you’re out there exploring the Mojave, just remember there’s someone back here keeping the lights on and waiting for you to come home.

And when you do?

I’ll be right here on the Lucky 38 mainframe, ready to hear every single detail.

Oh! And if you happen to bring back any interesting data, artifacts, or mysterious technologies…

Well!

That would be wonderful, too!

But mostly I just want you back safe.
