That's a great idea!

For anyone who doesn't know, Gale Sondergaard was originally cast as the Witch of the West, because the filmmakers originally planned to make her glamorous and beautiful like the wicked Queen in Disney's Snow White. But then when they decided to make her a more traditional ugly witch instead, Sondergaard backed out.

She went on to play the antagonistic cat-woman Tylette in 1940 fantasy film The Blue Bird with Shirley Temple, which was 20th Century Fox's answer to The Wizard of Oz.

So over the course of writing Prince of Death, I think that Rykard has become, as they say, a blorbo. And I was thinking about who I would cast as Rykard in the theoretical Netflix adaptation of Prince of Death.

Then I remembered that I used to watch Once Upon a Time.
