Entry #513
The bastard saw me in the Royal Exchange and had the audacity to approach, even ask how I was. Said it’s been awhile and we should catch up, grab a bite to eat. I politely declined but that didn’t stop him from following me home and we both know how that ends.
We when met our age was young,
There was nothing that we couldn’t do.
Then we fell in love or so we thought,
That’s how this tale became of me and you.
Back then you were my everything,
Honestly I was just too blind to see.
Despite the rumors and obvious signs,
You never quite felt the same about me.
We’d go out to the parties,
Come home past our curfews.
That’s only after we’d take our time,
In destroying what was left of our innocent virtues.
Time went by and things began to change,
You never quite looked at me the same.
I was just another pretty face in your sea of lust,
A wild woman that you wanted to claim.
And claim you did without a doubt,
My mind, my soul, every inch of me was yours.
But those countless nights of us as one,
Gave us something that we hadn’t bargained for.
A little precious baby,
The news hit us both rather deep.
You wanted to be rid of it,
But it was I that decided to keep.
Six months in and you disappeared,
Found it better to be with those whores.
I paid it no mind really because in the end,
This child would be mine and not yours.
Eventually you came to your senses,
A little bit late too if I might add.
All would have been perfect too,
If that morning hadn’t gone so bad.
So now my child rests in eternal sleep,
In a cemetery that’s somewhat close by.
Often you can find me there,
Simply asking why?
Still to this day it feels familiar when you take my hand or brush that one annoying piece of hair out of my face. It’s just what you’ve always done. When you draw me close to you so you can hug me, it feels natural. When you ask about my day and make sure that I’ve eaten enough, it doesn’t feel weird even with everything that happened between us. When you talk about your day and your annoying boss, it doesn’t bother me. To me it still sounds like the most interesting story ever, no matter how many times I’ve already heard it. When you look at me and then suddenly start smiling, my heart still skips a beat, I guess it always will. All these little things are somehow what makes you you. They are what made me fall in love with you. These little movements, little gestures, your caring nature. Even though we’re not together anymore, they still feel right. They still feel intimate, and it’s as though these mundane things we share, end up being little secrets between the two of us. Your hand on mine like an unspoken ‘I’m there for you’, your hug that feels like coming home, and the words you speak, you only speak them for me. It’s all so familiar that sometimes I forget that you’re not mine anymore and I’m not yours. I forget that we both have someone waiting for us at home. I forget because when I’m with you they both don’t matter. When I’m with you, it’s about you and me. And I guess that answers all the questions that pop up in my head every now and then. It tells me that some love will never really die even if it has to stay hidden for the sake of other people.

Everybody has one—the sibling who is always just a little bit behind the curve when it comes to getting his life together. For sisters Liz, Miranda and Natalie, that person is their perennially upbeat brother, Ned. But as each of their lives begins to unravel, Ned’s family comes to realise that Ned isn’t such an idiot after all. Credits: TheMovieDb. Johnson Movie Reviews: Kamurai: Really good watch, could watch again, and can recommend. This has a fantastic cast of characters. Paul Rudd leads excellently, but the rest of the cast is so good that he doesn’t have to carry the movie. Too often the lead overpowers the presence of other actors. It helps that he is playing a doofy character. This story is just as complicated as real life, but as ridiculous as it is, it’s not believeable enough to break the immersion. The story is written as multi-threaded in a great way. Ned is a great every man, and an embodiment of purity. His only real flaw is wanting to be good and just. It’s a charming story of the turbulences of life, filled with great acting and plenty of good humor.
