đź’śToday is Epilepsy Awareness Dayđź’ś
I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in June 2018, after having tonic-clonic and focal seizures for almost a year and I was incredibly lucky to receive a diagnosis so quickly. However I was shockingly naive about what Epilepsy is, but amazing, strong people have helped me to understand.
We need to start having more conversations surrounding Epilepsy. One of the most worrying things is the potential of having a seizure surrounded by people who don’t understand, or don’t know what to do. But for hundreds of people this is a risk that they take everyday.
Would you know what to do or how to tell if I, or someone else, was having a seizure? If the answer is no and you have five minutes spare in your day just read a bit about Epilepsy, and about basic first aid for seizures. It really could be enough to save someone’s life!
