Question to my fellow epileptics!!
Does anyone else shout “I’M FINE” or “I’M OKAY” or “I’M GOOD” when they drop something at home? I’m speaking time with my parents and at the ripe age of 26 I still shout this when I drop something in my room despite being seizure free for 2 years 😂
oh btw everybody send well wishes to my brother bc he sat thru project hail mary but he has epilepsy so im gonna be worried abt him for the next week or so bc he said he thinks he had a seizure yesterday night so i was Worried in the theater nothing makes you More Aware of flashing lights than having a family member with epilepsy (or yourself having epilepsy)
shout out to a real mvp @umbellule for warning me about the PROLONGED FLASHING/PHOTO SENSITIVE SCENE that apparently happens in the middle of the film project hail mary !!! i’ve seen a lot about it and was in fact planning on seeing it, and if i hadn’t known that going in i could have seriously gotten hurt if i was alone, watching it while doing a task, or even if i was just sitting in the wrong place and had an episode and fell over/hit my head. thanks for looking out friend ❤️🥹

Yknow. I'm gonna share this one to the masses.
So I have focal aware seizures more than any other type. Which means I have a sort of impaired consciousness. Sometimes minor sometimes major. I very rarely lose full consciousness during my seizures. That being said sometimes I can remember the things I was thinking before I went fully blank and it leads to a fair few hilarious things.
For example, I had a seizure while going to the bathroom the other day and in my array of "oh my god I cant die on the toilet" and "I need to text my spouse" while doing absolutely nothing about it... I had one striking thought. And this was caused by a brand new sensation. Likely brought on by H. Pylori medication regime i was taking at the time. If you've ever had a ct scan with contrast you know that warm feeling you get in your genitals and for some reason that was a sensation the seizure decided I needed to have. So in my impaired thought process the main thing my brain was so concerned about that it kept repeating was:
"Has your pussy fallen off?"

No..
I don't think so.
I've recently received some very rude asks from, what I'm guessing, is one anon pretending to be multiple people, or folks starting a harassment campaign. They're now blocked, but each of them accused me of not really being epileptic because I use a computer. That's just the single stupidest reasoning I have ever heard, but it reminded me I have a video from a seizure study I participated in.

DO NOT SENT ADVICE!!! I have heard it all, from diets to super foods, and even someone telling me to drink apple cider vinegar.
DO NOT TELL ME YOU FEEL SORRY FOR ME!!! That's insult beyond measure. I don't want to hear it ever again.
DO NOT TELL ME I'M BRAVE!!! There is nothing brave about having epilepsy. It's just a part of my life, just like having limbs. You are telling me you would rather be dead than have seizures. It's exhausting dealing with that attitude.
The seizure starts at 4 minutes, when I have my aura (the warning prior to a seizure). It's about 10 seconds before the seizure starts. This type of seizure is called a tonic-clonic, which is in the gran mal family. Click the YouTube link for more information.
