3,9, 18, 20, 30 for ao3 wrapped!
Hiiiiii Gin! Oh gosh, thanks for playing :D
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
I really like Rival, the Na Heedo/Ko Yurim fic that I wrote in the Twenty Five Twenty One fandom, mainly because I've never written anything in a sports-world setting and I *think * I managed to do alright with that! :) Co incidentally it's also my most read/kudos-ed fic of the year, so I'm glad some people enjoyed it!
9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?
Can't believe you asked me this, when I'm SO CLOSE to caving in and getting an insta so that I can stalk two middle aged ahjussis online. I've spent at least half of this year making up stories in my head or writing them for the Cheongdam Couple - that's superstars Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung for the uninitiated- and I'm probably going to keep doing that until *they * realize that the public doesn't want pew-pew -pew films about (hot) fascists, the public wants the single dads finding love at Chuseok rom com. C'mon ahjussis, you can do it. Palli, palli!
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
Hmm, I don't think I've had any real trouble this year, with characters as such. Idk, maybe because I don't think I've attempted anything too complex?
20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?
Oh, I know this is supposed to be stuff from this year, but the truth is my comfort re-read is 2020's Destiny's Child because I still laugh at my jokes in that one, even the ones that nobody else gets.
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
That I wrote as much as I did, tbh! It's been a rough couple of years and I think my mental health this year has been significantly worse than the last, so just being able to put words down has been a surprise and a blessing. (And it wouldn't have happened if not for you and Rain *sob * )
Here's to thinking and reading and writing and enjoying next year, Ginster! <3<3<3
If anyone else wants to play, the questions are here
4, 13 and 40!
4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
Does this answer your question??? 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡
But the ones I’ve highlighted are the ones I’ve been working on recently.
Idk if you’ve watched “Life”, but it’s really great! @rain-hat watched it recently and was yelling at me about it, so that made me dig it up. I think it’s going to be a one shot, sort of epilogue to the series (which had a sort of open ending). Mostly it’s an excuse for me to write the characters played by Cho Seung-Woo and Lee Kyu-hyung smush faces.
13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?
It really is “The first draft just has to exist” and “You have to write it.”
I mean, I have to keep reminding myself so it’s not like I’ve internalized it, but I find the first one especially can be super comforting/motivating through the slog overs.
40. Write an alternative ending to [insert fic title] (or just the summary of one).
Oh, hmm, I don’t think I have so many alternate endings in mind- usually there’s a specific ending that’s pretty clear in my head and the entire thing is written with that trajectory in mind.
The closest I came to maybe changing it midway was my recent fic for the show “Run On”.
In “This Suspect Edifice”, I gave my hero- who’s a “side character” in the show, a sad, tortured gay boy in unrequited love with his himbo best friend, a Perfect Boyfriend (TM)- an original character- and midway through the fic, instead of writing the break up so he could end up with the best friend, almost went the other way and said, to hell with the Undeserving Himbo. \m/
In the same story- which is a friends falling in love slowly over a period of 8 years thingie- I almost also did end it as them being in a romantic but asexual relationship, but though I didn’t write any sexy times for it, I sort of ended it implying that there would be, in their future. That was partly because I was already half writing the sequel in my head where their Sexy Times are a bit of a disaster, though they love each other lots! And that still has a potential to end in a asexual romantic relationship, I think, without it being too OOC from the first part! Idk if I will ever write it though. (See my WIP Folder of Shame above)

It’s elderflower gin time! I’m going to substitute the 1 tablespoon of caster sugar for stevia and see what happens. Recipe is 6-8 elderflower heads, 500ml gin, a few strips of lemon rind and a tablespoon of caster sugar. Knock off any bugs off the flower heads. Pop in a jug, add all the other ingredients. Cover and leave to infuse for 24 hours. Strain through a coffee filter or kitchen towel into a bottle afterwards. . . . #elderflower #elderflowergin #elderflowerginrecipe #infusedgin #summerdays #foragingisfun #hedgewitch #hedgewitchcraft #forager #foragedflowers #gincocktails #countrysidelife (at Harrowby, Lincolnshire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeYY1u1g5aB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
